NEW CTF MAP BETA! ctf_nexface

  • As you could see in the Screenshots what you're doing, I'm working on a remake for UT's Facing worlds CTF map. Generic compile is running atm. so expect the map today sometime to be avaible here. This is the first beta, the map is more or less done, only needs some more detail (secondary), and correction of ewapon and item placement. That's why I please you all to test it.

    Here are some screens (some more items added, only a bit outdated) to get you all excited ;)

    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

    You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • yeah, the map is indeed very nice rebuilt, however it lacks details of course, but it's really fun to play it (with the rough structure/geometry)

    To merge to the .map file, append the part at the end (the info_location entities) to the .map file. To just use the locations, use a current SVN checkout, put the .ent file in ~/.nexuiz/data/maps/ or nexuiz/data/maps/. When saying something with %l in it, it will get replaced by something describing where you are.

  • Yesterday evening we had a very fun 2on2 play with m0rfar, divVerent, and tZork.

    We have noticed some things, I won't post here now, until I got them fixed.

    But we have a huge thing under done, and it is useful who has the svn version of nexuiz.

    Yes, teamsay chat macro for telling your location. This is the first map that has this feature, it uses divVerent's ent file (see above, the next version will include that, wich I hope pretty much will be posted here today or tomorrow.)

    Changes made:
    -----------------
    -Biggest change:

    LOCATION SYSTEM! You need the latest svn beta version of nexuiz to get this working tho. After fetching it, all you need is to bind a key to:

    Code: Select all
    bind x "say_team I'm %l"


    After this, you will get your location on the map.

    -Changed some weapon placement: removed one nex from camping spot, and moved it behind the tower, added hagar to left front of tower, added electro to left front of tower.
    -added more health and armor.
    -corrected some texture problems and geometry.
    -lowered hurt Trigger a bit, now it is realy hard to rocketjump from tower to tower (Fear the dogs! :D )



    TODO:
    --------
    -More TESTING!!! (cmon ppl, let's play CTF, it's fun!)
    -coloring towers red-blue (doh!)

  • divVerent kindly made a small patch to 1.5 users, but mind


    THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL PATCH, YOU SHOULD USE IT WITH CARE!

    The patch contains a progs. dat that is to be placed in nexuiz/data. After this, you should be able to use the %l location only on this map (svn users can use it anywhere), and now you can fire as far as you want (in 1.5 there's a max range for all weapons).
