i tired to set a password for a server i create. i searched for this information, but i can't find anything. is it even possible to set a password? thanks met marten

No, this is not possible, but you could set "sv_public 0", so the server won't appear in the serverlist.

aha ok. but that has the same effect, as if i would set public server to disabled in the basic options, right?

i'm asking, cuz i already name the servers "somename_private" and some funny ppl join and tell me that i should set a password when i ask them to leave... you know, sometimes you want just to have some fun with your buddys without anybody joining the game. but thanks anyway

Yeah, that should have the same effect.

When you set sv_public to 0 and your server already sent an announcement to the master server, it will stay public for serveral minutes. If you want to remove your server immediately from the list, use "sv_public -1".
