Not "yes", obviously !

"No" would still imply it used to suck, but not anymore.

"It never sucked" would make them think "aha you did not notice it sucked before so you probably would not know now either"

Maybe reverse psychology? "It was great before but they killed it with this last release" ?

Maybe just ignore those as obvious flamebait but add some telling how you like it and that you like the fact that the laser does 35 damage per shot and is usable for trickjumping and does not suck like the wsw starting gun

How good a game is obviously also depends on the personal taste. So saying "**** sucks" always drives me mad.
also - hey AT gives you a COMPLETLY FREE (free as in freedom AND free as free beer) game which has modern graphics, is stable and - IT'S FUN (my opinion (TM)). Okay - making a game free is no reason to make it bad, but ... does anyone just THINK about that it's MADE TO ENTERTAIN??? Isn't that the general pupose of a videogame?
I'm sorry I am going that offtopic (admins feel free to delete this post), but what me annoyms most - ALL THE TIME - is when ppl just complaining ... critics is okay, but these comments have nothing of constructive critics in it...
If I don't like a game, I do not play it. Period.

I honestly believe that most flaming comes out of fear. The reason that AA and Nex get so brutally flamed on ESR is because if you look at the people doing it, they are mostly coming from QW (which is always been that way for them, but worse now that their playerbase is small and fading) and from another free game that shall not be mentioned. They try to portray Nex and AA in a negative light that in their minds, will keep either game from ever gaining a foothold in competitive gaming scenes, simply because they fear losing their own. There simply is no other reason for them to make the effort to do what they do. Normal people would just let the topic die, without spending the energy to trash it. Scared people will do something a bit different.

Personally I feel a bit dirty for even engaging with them. In the past I've come to the defense of Nexuiz there as well, because I see through their slightly hidden agendas, but maybe in the future I'll just stay out of the discussions there. It's sometimes easier said than done though.

The correct answer Hofstadter gives is: "Mu!", which basically results in "un-asking" the question because it depends on untrue conditions.

I posted there. Lets see if we get some more flaming. But overall the comments arent that bad for ESR users... People expect a game like warsow/quake3 and get something different. Maybe they see the potential behind nexuiz and give this nice game a chance.

100% agree with nifrek. Or mix it up with some CTF runs from "are you up for the challenge" with some nice mass action frags. Call it a preview then and you got tons more time to finish what you are really planning
