  • Hi all, I read the guide to create a dedicated server on linux http://www.forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?p=121#121
but I'm still wondering what's the difference between the script
    Nexuiz/Docs/server/server_linux.sh
    and
    Nexuiz/nexuiz-linux-686-dedicated

    ??

Another question: is a server always public (visible on internet)?
In other games the server can be local or public.
    What about nexuiz?

Thanks and all my compliment to the developer.

  • nexuiz-linux-x86_64-dedicated (64 bit) or nexuiz-linux-686-dedicated (32 bit) are precompiled binaries, server_linux.sh is a shellscript that decides wich linux binary to run, and execes the server.cfg.

    From server.cfg:
//sv_public 1 // 0 if the server should not be on the public servers list
Read the post you've mentioned more closer ;)

  • By the way: The thread you mentioned is a bit outdated, i need to update it.. For the time being i think reading Nexuiz/docs/server/readme.txt and Nexuiz/Docs/server/server.cfg carefully is just as good.. At least i hope so :)
