  • Hmm.. strange.
Anyway, for a permanent but good solution edit your ~./nexuiz/data/config.cfg file. Insert

name "yourdesired name" just the way you should type it in the menu. Be sure, do delete/edit the old one that's stored in there :)

  • I just unninstalled nexuiz 2.3 (i installed it with a deb package from repositories) and downloaded the zip files from alientrap download page to use 2.4, I moved the unzipped directory to /opt/ and execute nexuiz-linux-glx.sh script, so i entered the game, the config.cfg file from nexuiz 2.3 is already in $HOME/.nexuiz/data, but in /opt/nexuiz/data there isn't any config.cfg file. What am i doing bad? Is there a way to install nexuiz 2.4 directly in my system?

Even if it works now.. there should never ever be a config.cfg in /opt/nexuiz/data .. thats were the 'global' files are and one should NOT have write access there. Only the home directory is the only place one can be sure to have write access, so ~/.nexuiz/data IS the right place for config.cfg.
Unless debian makes a 2.4 package (the qc compiler in debian is still too old..) you will have to use the .zip file, but what do you mean with 'installing directly into your system'??
