  • Having upgraded almost all parts of my hardware up to a system with Intel C2D E6750, 2G of PC800 RAM, a new Asus P5K Mainboard, SATA drives only and from today on a Zotac GF 9600GT Amp! Edition (YAY!!!), I was interested in the performance of my "new box" and started some benching.

I ran a plain Nexuiz without any hotfixes and no config.cfg and started the benchmark with
    Code: Select all
    timedemo/demos/demo1
, twice for every config preset (low, medium, normal, high, ultra, ultimate), in addition the ultimate preset with HDR. Screen Resolution was set to EDIT: 1024x768 (Fullscreen). (updated, esteel told me to set it to default instead of 640x480 and repeat everything)

For this reason I ran the demos twice each preset:

The first time you run a demo, it compiles shaders as you need them, which is kind of a slowdown, the second time it keeps them precompiled and can run considerably faster.

This doesn't seem to have changed throughout 2.4.

    And here are my results:

    low

and btw, I use a slightly fresh Win XP Pro SP2.

So please, get your machines running and post your results and system specs here. You 'll find it all in a benchmark.log in the \data folder. I'm waiting for you! 8)

You might better quit FF for it eats you resources like hell ! On my company PC which is a 2.6Ghz P4 with a GF7600GS I got half of the fps while playing when it's active. However with dual screen and a 1650x1050 resolution.

You might want to check 2.4.1 when its out or ask someone for a UPTODATE engine (the hotfix does not yet have it) as there were some changes for cards in that range that should give a nice speedup..
