  • Should I not make such a wild accusation without proof? I get told that statement quite a lot. However I guess people shouldn't make such obvious aimbots.

  • I just watched them all , I dunno if it's a aimbot. He misses a lot of targets by inches.

    I think he's just a good player.

  • That looks very suspicious, especially how he shoots at walls (you can't see the player there).

Also, he says something about initial delay in one of the demos.

    Do you have an IP?

  • The IP is in the JPG SS with the DL.

Personally I have seen Usil do the exact same thing, I don't have a demo but I have spec him..
    No difference.
And I don't know if he uses a bot, I think hes just good, or maybe he does.

Yeah, in the third demo he turns and shoot left at about 39 seconds when the player hadn't come past the edge of the wall yet. There were a few others as well.

Quite what the point of it is I can't imagine.

    you're definitely wrong this time...
i mean, how can you even think about him just being a good player?
he turns directly to targets outside of his view and shoots them

and OF COURSE he misses some....

  • We can ban this guy- but prevention isn't the way to go, ask mkzelda explained to me.

If I got through the effort to detect it, they'll just make a better one, knowing what criteria to look for, and eventually we'll get aimbots we cant tell

The only solution imo is to eliminate hitscan weapons.

  • I didn't password the rar, it's on my siblings nexuiz site. I just brought it here since they aren't really exposing the person's wrong doing very well.

I did also pass it to the X community.

Usil doesn't move like that guy. I've played against Usil plenty of times :P

Plus the sibling is my sister if you read the text they did chat about the aimbot. :) He was willing to send it to her!

It could just be he was going to send a virus though. but it just fuels the proof more that he wouldn't deny it.

I personally couldn't care less if this guy hunts me down. there will always be others who expose people doing this thing, I was simply protecting my sisters identity because I sort of don't want her getting chased around by this guy. I'll take the fall however, I don't do the script kiddy / hacker / fear thing.

I quite frequently blame people or accuse, but when I manage to come up with such things like this. Why should people not believe me?.

Autoshooting can easily fool people since you can still manually fire on your own and miss a few times.

I can't really prove Zaght is cheating, however I can prove he cheated using the name TheOne, I need new evidence under his new ip and stuff though. So any help if you see him! appreaciated!

Oh!. I've been warning people for months that cheats were not impossible and infact I'm pretty sure 18% of the nexuiz community is using some sort of aiming / assistance / bot / autofire.

  • Ok, now I've seen the first 3 demos (the last 2 required maps I didn't have).
He is clearly cheating, no question about that.
Super-precise-instant-turning-180°-kills. And sometimes he fails at aimbotting by shooting on a wall with a player behind it.
    He is a failure.

I have no clue how you could come up with that # .
I don't play much MinstaGib but in DM, and CTF I haven't really seen
anything that would be blatant cheating, heck I have been accused of
cheating at times, but thats always by a n00b who most likely never played
    a FPS before.

Whatever it is I hope this gets resolved, Nexuiz is getting more players than ever and for the most part I like the people that are regulars but its just a matter of time as the game gains popularity there are going to be exploits.

  • Well, the aiming looks interesting. It is flickshoting all the time, but very good and sometimes it looks just strange how he shot. I mean, if green is on rampage, it looks pretty much the same but without those "randomness" in chosing targets, which no good player would ever do. This might be an aimbot, but I wouldnt bet money on it. Dont forget the very poor movement of most players in minsta ... it is overall very easy to hit them.

Would be nice if the one who was spectated there can reply.

  • The person who was there is currently on vacation and will be for a very long time. No one is that accurate though.

There are obviously ways to tone these bots down though to make it more of an autoshoot other than a bot. So the next issue we have is autoshooters who are not as easily detectable.

  • We know making an aimbot for Nexuiz is pretty easy if the person knows what to do. This is partly due because of the openness of Nexuiz. The devs know this. We already had an aimbotter on the PB Nexuiz server about half a year ago. The person involved came onto our forum when asked and explained the aimbot, what it did. One of the devs came onto our forum as well and had a lengthy discussion with the aimbot creator about the technical details, I had no idea what they were talking about :D I stopped playing minsta completely ever since the aimbotter was on our server.

Removing hitscan weapons is not the solution, I don't think they should be removed from the game. Of course aimbotting is the death of a gamemode like minsta but how far will a bad player who makes up for his lack of skills by using an aimbot go against an allround player who is also a crack at movement, prediction, etc.

Let's face it, playing on a map like Farewell with 16 players in a DM or minsta game is pretty stupid anyway. So maybe people concerned with aimbotters should move more towards non-public servers with players they know and trust [trust that they will own you without cheats :P]. I can not !promote the #nexuiz.pickup channel enough !

If you play on a public server nowadays you still have more chance of being cursed at [i hate this, why do people... kids... do that?] then to encounter an aimbotter :P

  • I second PeanutButter.
Nexuiz imho, gone mature. In the way, that it's populratity and fame has reached the masses.
One year ago "public" was not the same like today: Nexuiz was mostly played by those, who you meet day by day here on the forum. A very friendly and close community. Now I hardy see them playing on the servers.
Why? Becouse "public" is not that fun anymore we have got used to. There are a lot of players, who never talk a beep ever while playing, not even teamsays.
This is not bad at all, don't get me wrong. But it's different from what "we" think is good.
Conclusion: if you play on public, you can be sure that not all players will know what to do, and you'll find cheaters too once in a while. If you want more, "serious" play (serious, but VERY fun), come to #nexuiz.pickup @ irc.quakenet.org . I can make you sure, you won't fid any cheaters there ;)

    gah, beh.
Toxic (or anyone pro) can't aim as fast as an aimbot (instant turning).
The pros can hit about 60% with the rail on a good match, but still, they can't aim so instantly like this aimbotter does.
