Laser , yeh

That was beautiful

. Quite touching.
The laser is a fantastic tool, and in my opinion, the only weapon worth using anyways. I suppose it's similar to the blaster, but the movement abilities it gives one are totally sweet and add tons to gameplay.
Also, it seems that speed and movement is heavily emphasized in Nexuiz, and the laser is a fantastic way to get there.
The shotgun isn't terribly interesting. Shotguns with burst fire are somewhat uncommon, but not unheard of.
Machineguns aren't anything new in videogames. The one in Turok Rage Wars has the same firemodes, even.
The mortar, while rather enjoyable, is just another grenade launcher.
I don't think the Crylink is a good choice to represent Nexuiz. It's worthless, the bouncing projectiles do no damge, now the're gone, now it's too strong, now it's worthless, now it's worthless, now it's worthless, now it's perfectly balanced, now it's worthless, now it's worthless, now it's too strong, now it's worthless, now it's worthless, now it's worthless, and now the bouncing projectiles are back, have some splash damage at bounce, and it's too strong.
I don't know what to think about the Electro. The fancy effects represent Nexuiz well enough.
The Hagar is interesting. It's kind of like the Devastator from the Duke Nukem series. I don't think it represents quite represents Nexuiz, though.
The Rocket Launcher is super cool. Detonating rockets is totally awesome, but so many other games have rocket launchers. If it weren't for that, this would stand a very good chance.
The Nex? Yet another railgun that's pressed into service as a sniper rifle. It doesn't even have a real secondary firemode.
