i had to read this a 2 or 3 times from different people:
"fastpath is cheating" (yell) without any explaination and immediate leave.
(fastpath basically lowers your Ping by switching off some error correction)

okay, i know what this means, but do you really think the small gain in latency / ping or whatever really counts?

hmmm.. remembering quake3 games, yes it would do. but with nexuiz there arent that much instant-hit-weapons, at least mostly the other exploding ones are prefered.

anyway, the most annoying with this that the insult comes from people who

could see (if they would look) that you are playing with ping 50 to 100ms, so it's not the Ping that mattered nor fastpath (which i dont)

As a matter of fact many many ISPs in many many countries don't have that extensive framing error correction stuff on DSL anyway. In Germany it's usually on by default and they'll charge you if you want get rid of it and sell that as "Fastpath".

"Fastpath" isn't cheating in my eyes. People with low-latency lines are people with low-latency lines. People with fast computers are people with fast computers. We cannot nail everyone down to crappy computers hooked onto the intertubes with crappy modems and get mad at people which happen to be decently equipped.

All the others, connection depend of quality line and distance from DSLAM.

I never heard about fastpath before. Now I'm sad.

I been 'accused' of this numerous times, sometimes when i had a decent ping, sometimes when it was in the 150+'s I dident think if it was a real thing since noone i asked what they mean by it was able to explain Tnx for teh xplain SavageX. i think most ppl who talk abt this are simply fustrated tho, same as ppl yelling camper @ ctf defenders.

Yeah, ain't that something. I wonder how their minds work and what their view of defending is. Like running around the entire map leaving the base unguarded.

Sorry of topic but I just had to do it. Don't want this to pick up into a argument. But yeah, one shouldn't blame the connection or the computers other use of cheating, that's like saying: "He's more athletic than me, he's taking steroids." :p
