Hello

Even though I am new to games in general, having only played chess and BioShock, I just installed this game tonight and I'm having a whale of a time.

Seeing as I'm new at this I haven't played any on-line games and as such I do not have a clue what to do.

I would appreciate it if somebody could explain how I could set this game up so that I can play with a few mates while we are all on-line at the same time?

Please forgive the simplicity of this question but I'm quite new at all this.

Quite simple, really. There is no installation, just download the game and throw it anywhere you want. To setup a server, you can use either the server binaries (no GUI), or you can set up a "listen server," which basically means you are playing on the same PC that is acting as a server (this can be a bit slow if you don't have a beefy rig and a fast connection). To set up listen server, just use the server creation menu. If you want to set up a dedicated server, you should read the server.txt in the documentation.

I've had a look at the multi-player section and there are a lot of servers. Are these all pre-defined?

If not then how can I create one so that I can get a few mates to play me?

Or do I just find an empty server with 0/8 players?

Please excuse my ignorance but I'm new with little knowledge and my mates have even less.

OK, to host a multiplayer game for your friends heres what you can try.

1) Start up Nexuiz
2) Click on the multiplayer tab
3) Look up at the top of the window, there will be another button that says "Create" Click it.
4) You should be able to work it out from here. The tabs at the top are the different game types.

nah, the guy wants to kill his mates so he's better off hosting it on his own machine so that he has better ping than them.
