    This is what Nexuiz would have looked like in 1981, being a CGA graphics demo.

    Anyone want to implement that sort of rendering? ;)
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

    You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

    Although different from what DP would do... yes, it actually handles that case. And then displays "spf"...

  • actually a GLSL "CGA" shader would be a fun novelty feature, maybe an EGA mode too :)

  • That's a lot of dithering!

    I doubt you would get any performance improvement out of it as the CPU will still be loaded with everything else. The only reason would be for fun and then you really do need to think about other things you could be doing instead...

    ACK. If this will be implemented at any time, it will become a proof-of-contest pixel shader - and of course no specific renderer.

    Which yields a paradox situation - to get CGA-style rendering, you need a card capable of pixel shaders...
