I think there was a Jailbreak mod for Quake2... somewhere maybe. Its been so long I dont remember.

so, if you're killed you go to jail and have to wait for someone to free you. we (the PB clan, Purple Carrot mainly) have tried something like this on Peace5: there's a cage with a spawnpoint inside it, so if you're killed there's a chance that you will respawn inside that cage and will have to wait until someone opens the door. people weren't amused.

I hope we hear from someone who's played it.

It seems to me that being locked up all the time could be frustrating and boring.

Guess it depends on map design and teams, really.

well, it could be fun. you also have to wait in LMS, but i for one want to PLAY when i connect. i have to wait anyway, because of random disconnects.

I don't think this would be much fun to play, especially if one team is stronger than the other, and most of the weaker team's players are waiting in the prison.

This would probably provoke undesired team changings from players who got caught and do not want to wait around.

Just a quick idea, but as a variation this could be more interesting: If you hit/frag a player from the other team, he/she is tagged. Someone tagged can get rid of the tag by tagging a player from the other team. If all members of a team are tagged, the other team gets points.

This way, everyone could play all the time.

Jail Break III Gold kicked so much ass as an Unreal Tournament 99 mod with maps like Talaaron Gold and Babylon. It'd be cool to see this ported over to Nexuiz.

For Unreal Tournament like Lee said, it kicked ass, i played it only briefly if i remember correctly, but i know quite a few people played it in UT and loved it.

Jailbreak is a good mod, but freezetag\freon is better.

When fragged, instead of going to jail, you are frozen. A teammate, by standing next to you, warms you up and thaws you, or you warm up slowly over time, and once unthawed you carry on. Battlemode has made the mod for UT3, and it's brilliant. Think of "stuck in the mud" with guns. You wn a round by having all your opponents frozen.
