Hi,

I joined a game (with most players) and was kicked by {GBLT} Oblivion. I don't know why. I wanted to message him and ask whats up. I was kicking ass with the nex the night before and maybe my aim is so good I'm labeled a hacker. Perhaps he wanted to keep the teams even or wanted a guildmate to join. I dunno.

It says the command is "tell." How does that work for his name? I tried:

tell {GBLT} Oblivion hi
tell "{GBLT} Oblivion" hi
tell Oblivion hi

He wasn't in the same game with me obviously since I was booted.

Type status and it gives you a list of names with numbers. Then, say you want to talk to the guy with #1, you'd type - tell #1 hi

If I'm wrong, oh well.

Now it also should work by typing: tell <playerNameHere>
But if all else fail then yes, Komier is correct, typing 'status' in the console you'll see the number of the player and then just type: tell #<playerNumberHere> <messageHere>

Alternatively you can press tab after typing the first letter(s) and it will auto-complete all the possible names starting with that letter/character. However, both you and the person you want to talk to must be on the same server, it's not a chatroom So you have to be playing at the same time in the same game in order to talk to someone.

It does (or at least it did) need the color codes too when using the playername, that's why I added a flag for nickcompletion to handle quotes.
eg, if I'm on the server you can type
tell "b
then press tab, and it will automagically complete to:
tell "^3B^7lu^3b"
including the ending " quote and a space after it

Dunno if it's on by default, it's flag 2
just type: con_nickcompletion_fla and press tab
it'll give you the info you need
