  • Hello everyone I am VectorAlpha are a classic medium player, I have a passionate Nexuiz thanks to my brother nIIn I showed the beauty and validity of the great work done by developers of this game "call it that seems too simplistic" since then and have passed about two years I have not played virtually nothing else, I followed with interest increasing its development and its updates including the communities that gradually you were born around, what now prompts me to post here is a consideration : In every activity that involves interpersonal relationships, I think, but perhaps I am wrong, which is fundamental respect for all and education. Beyond the appearance purely entertainment there should be universal principles of tolerance and courtesy. Unfortunately, it is not always so well-known fact with regret and deep sadness, lately the presence of some characters who tend to offend and overwhelm our neighbour. This is very strange for an environment where even as Nexuiz developers and gamers most representative are always available and kind. I did not claim to provide solutions or recommendations on, nor even to be the judge of anybody, this will not even be a complaint, only one account by one who loves this environment. Maybe someone is able to convince me that mistake, in my heart I hope, therefore aspect confident your considerations in this regard. I apologise for my English are not much good at writing. I apologise to moderators even if they are not the right place, if you believe is the case you can safely delete this post.

  • Hmm, I think I get what you are trying to say... you feel like the mood within the community has been changing for the worse?

  • Hi again, VectorAlpha, e benvenuto al foro di Nexuiz!

I would tend to agree that the general ethos has lapsed a bit, but that's only a very subjective opinion. I would say that it really depends on with whom you play, which itself depends on the time of day.

The {X} Community tries to maintain a good social atmosphere in the game but we seem to be quite inactive at the moment. I myself have also been less than cheerful on many occasions lately due to thinning patience for some people and some behavior, so I can't claim to be helping the problem very much.

Perhaps a large part of it has to do with how active the "regulars" are. I don't see very many when I play, but I've been playing at strange hours lately.

(I'm becoming waaaaaaaay too verbose... apologies).

  • ai, i'm right there with you. know what i see? far, far in the future, after the apocalypse, when part of humankind has "risen" in their Titanic 7013 spaceship, and the rest reverted back to thick-skulled palaeolithic primates, they will sit around a camp fire, roast giant cockroaches and play Nexuiz on an ancient PlayStation µ. :D

  • As the poplarity of the game grows, so will the number of assholes. This is natural I think.
But don't worry. If you really wanna experience the true Nexuiz feeling, as playing with great players and great people, come to irc, or #nexuiz.pickup, and you won't be disappointed ;)

Or you could go on an axe murdering rampage. Always makes me feel better...

And the thing about the hook servers is true.

  • Well last time I was on a hook server there were about 3 decent players on including myself. The rest were noobs who didnt even know what the hook was. That was yesterday.

Well, what I meant by that is, you'll find more noobs on the hook servers because they don't know how to laserjump, while the better players will use the non-hook servers because hooks get in the way of actual gameplay.

  • All in all i still think the Nexuiz community is quite friendly and helpful. Sure the bigger a community gets the more different people you have and that creates tensions but as long as it does not get out of hands its ok.
Just take a look at this forum and how helpful people are.. ignoring some of the sarcatic comments to certain 'stupid' questions.. after a while its hard to answer questions that could be more exact or be solved with a simple search.
As for online gaming, latly i hardly find time for that but it still seemed ok last time i had time :)

  • Thank you for all your answers, thanks for the welcome Xeno, 4m even here you find it? Esteel I am also convinced of the usefulness and availability of the people of Nexuiz and I understand perfectly all the work behind and the time that we dedicated, my thinking is motivated only by an impression had in this last period, obviously that are safe and have a lot of hope that Nexuiz can grow and become even more beautiful than it is already.

  • [ONLY] are friendly! We're new to the game but we're all adults and treat others with friendliness and respect - and expect the same. If you're meeting people with attitude problems, just ignore them and find another server if they're bothering you too much.

The only complaint I've had is that so many people will log onto a server and not even reply to a hello, then quit as soon as they get fragged a couple times. This isn't the case with the clan community or any of the regulars I've met, but there's lots of people who may as well be bots set on skill 1 =)

Aside from that, the community here is 100x better than on any commercial title i've played!

Yes, but I think that part of the problem may be an inability to make the distinction between "newb" and "rude player." I used to label new players as a detriment to the community for some arbitrary reason, but those same players have gone on to become prominent members of the NA clan community.

But your comment has some validity: I rarely see older players say things like "ogm u fucker u kild me" or feel the need to say "pwned" or something equally as stupid after each kill.
