Can anyone give me a link to somplace that I can download nexuiz 1.0 from?

Basicly no as 5 (or so) files with suspicous origin were found. One could argue they were copyright violations. So 1.0 was pulled as good as possible.. However if you look around the forum you can find an even earlier beta version posted by Vermeulen, dating back to 2004 i think. Its only half working though, only ships with a windows binary but works on current engines if you are using linux/mac.
For example final rage was resurected from this old beta, nice job by tZork btw..
And OMG its been a long time but i think 1.1 was very similar to 1.0..

Iirc the main difference between 1.0 and 1.1 were the bots, and maybe some kinda functioning CTF.

1.0 also had an unfortunate feature in it's game mechanics that players were as fast crouching as standing up. 1.1 fixed this and Diesel power was introduced for the first time.

I'm pretty sure 'hit the ground' was added only later in 1.2 and 1.2.1 or so fixed that? But well, he wanted 1.0 which is not available anymore because of legal stuff.

so, what's the version of the one i posted?

Why do I like the models in the early version more than 2.4.2?
Perhaps it is because do to the lack of things happening in the backround I am able to run with higher sttings?

I like the older model desings more than the new ones ( most anyway)

Which models do you mean? Playermodels? they are basicly still the same.. Itemmodels? Well that depends, i like the new ones more as they are quite consistent and clear on what they do..

i kinda liked the huge health "pads".

my question still remains.
