  • DVDs don't work forever...

    I just lost a HDD :(
    unfortunately it was my most recent one, the one I actually used...
    all my old stuff and OLD backups survived...

    but the important stuff is mirrored on my laptop :)

    Why use DVD when you can have it on redundant NAS systems at remote locations in 10MT proof data bunkers? Or store it on a different planet altogether? Or a different universe, just in case Gordon Freeman buggers something up at the LHC?
