  • Since the last Board I couldnt watch who does like this idea ;)
    NOW I start that again... if anyone didnt know what I want to say:

    I want to make a trickjump clan, just for fun. If we have any mapper, we would have some spezial maps for us, we can make movies or little films about one or more jumpers aso.

    Who like that idea and maybe want to "join" the clan?

  • Hmm i think each of the people that replied in the old thread liked the idea!
    I also like it (trickjumps in general) but i do not think i would have enough time for a clan or mapping :)

  • Enjoyable stuff true, but, not sure that a "Clan" is the way to go.

    Sometimes when theres just a couple of users on a server, fighting stops and folks show each other new tricks/tips/map glitches, like the hidden platform edge in map 13., or getting into awkward places in ceiling space, the rotor in map 9 or off-map via the ceiling gaps in map 11.

    more than 2 or 3 ppl and they get bored of not fragging each other.
    Cant imagine organising a large group.

    maybe just continue with the screenies / Demo recordings, now theres more maps theres more scope for new tricks.

    perhaps also make a Sub Group on the forums and dedicate it to map chats / tips / tricks and let individuals decide to meet on a map if theres any "have you tried this before" stuff. (sorry ive not checked if this already exists)

    Re Mapping, there was once a Quake 3 rocket jump test course, but it also became a test of who had the best PC / connection. some jumps were impossible without high end connection/graphics etc and invariably there were guys who cheated just to look good.

    The real nice maps, for me, are the space ones. a bit like snowboarding, often its not the tricks , but the control in the air that counts :)

  • @kern: I didnt mean with such a clan, that we meet us every day and play every day a few hours, no! Thats not really a clan, more a place we can meet us (one time a week or one time in a month??) and train together or show each other new moves etc. things like that. With the server: I think at least on one server isnt nobody, and if anyone has a real high-end pc he can host a little round for us or something like that, or I can ask a friend if we can use his server 1-2 hours...

    That map is really good! BUT! Ive played it with Nexuiz 1.2 WITHOUT problems... if i start that with 1.5 i fall throught the ground in the black! What should i do??? I want to play it again :(

    Its happening to me too.. Guess Revenant has to change the player spawn locations a bit (raise them). although i do not think this should happen when it did work in 1.2.1..

  • On 1.2.1 it worked well! Ive played it at least 30 times untill i know the whole map and walk throught it without stopping xD

    Funny enougth sometimes the answer is lowering items when they fall throught the floor. This is, from the mappers pov, the single most iritating bug in dp. Its practicaly impossible to predict when item will stay and what ones will fall. I had maps with two idential items on the same height on diffrent places in the map and seen one of them fall, the other not.

    That means its impossible to play the map? But if the Author changes it its possible again?

    I think so.. its possibe the create a file with all the items in them map and edits it. With that it is possible to change the locations of the spawn points but i have no experience with such things..

    load the map and enter sv_saveentfile in the console. it will create a file Nexuiz/data/maps/revjump.ent
    The player start points are the things called: "classname" "info_player_start" and the location is ike that one: "origin" "-128 896 -32"
    i got the map working again by chaning all the -32 in that file to -1..
    I did this work and have produced this file:
    revjump-fix.pk3
    Just put it into your Nexuiz/data folder. Think Rev should do something similar in this mapfile. He does not have an external file for the entities..
    But make sure to delete that file if he releases a new version of the map..

    This is what Im working on: http://tanoware.ta.ohost.de/JO/ I try to expand it.. anyone who said here YES will be listed there, if somebody doesnt want that, say it to me.

    Tomnorrow or "The day After Tomorrow" I already have it expanded xD ;)

    What do you mean Nexuiz did not found the map? If you just download my file and put it besides the revjump.kp3 it should just work.. without falling through the floor.. There is no need to mess with the map unless you want to do the work again :)
    Or do you mean that you can nolonger load the map?

    The page is still in work as it seems :)
    Also found a small type.. its register instead of regiter

    Jumping Ones is nice but the link to Nexuiz is missing.. How about Jumping Nexers? Hmm maybe JO sounds better..
