Hi all, let me give you the story behind this production.

I was recording my FOTM for October a few days ago, and I was finding it too short to put to music. And for some reason I really wanted music. So, sort of on a whim, I threw some more frags and a little music in there with it, and it became 3 minutes.

This is my first attempt at a frag movie. I am posting it here so as to receive constructive criticism. I didn' t want to become like someone else around here and never release anything.

To start us off, let me list some of what I see as its shortcomings. You can then add to this list or tell me I'm wrong.

- The biggest weakness IMO is the music. It does not have much variation, and has no strong sync points. This makes my attempts at syncing not stand out.
- The intro titles are way too short. This is because i did the rest of the movie before these, and only left myself 5 seconds of music for it. So that was pretty stupid.
- Already covered bad syncing.
- Someone unfamiliar with the game would probably not appreciate most of the frags.
- The frags are not particularly varied or exciting.
- Really terrible title, I couldn't think of anything cool :\

I guess I should also list what I see as strengths. Same as above, add to the list or disagree.

- Image quality/image correction.
- I thought the intro/exit titles were alright, except for the compressed intro, and a lack of fonts on my system.

If you wanna know whether you should make another one.... yes, you should.

You're right, though, it's nothing spectacular - to a ninja.

The transition effects are nice. I like the subtlety very much. Stick to it. But consider using music with a less complex rhythm.
(Try playing Nexuiz while listening to the same music you intend to use in the video)
The image quality is partially jaw-dropping.

Font could be cooler. Maybe something like this:

I'm trying to do something cool using virtualdub and avisynth.

Particularly, did u use input video in slowmo?

This is great, should be on the main Nexuiz page. Some of the transitions are a bit campy, but overall it's top notch. Also, nearly all of those frags are ludicrous- they put everything I've done in Nexuiz to shame

I know what you mean. Its excellent.

I recommend removing the spawnfrags, I don't find them particularly deserving to flaunt.

It was way too dark on my screen, but what I could see of it looked excellent!
