Here are some useful tips on how to win the game so listen and read carefully


TIPS!!!!

1. Never stop moving, enimies will find you an easy targer if you stay still for to long

2. Using spacebar, never, or rarley, stop jumping. Apponant's will not be feeling so confident when your moving non-stop

3.Health pick-ups. Always, when you need health should you use the pick-ups. If you can't find health pick-ups then hide away from all the fight untill your health will rise again.

4. When navigating around using arrow keys or letter keys ( E, S, D ) if you are left handed use the arrow key's with your right hand because with your left hand you need to concentrate on fighting. It''s just the opposite for right handers

Don't drink and frag.

Don't shoot at players who are typing.
You recognize typing players by the keyboard symbols above their head.

GG is shorthand for 'Good Game'

Don't call other player cheaters without good reason.
Many players are playing this game for a long time.
Or they have experience from other games.
If you like this game and play often enough,
soon other beginners could start calling you a cheater.

If you think an experienced player
is abusing this server
tell him to leave.

Players with the perfix 'BOT'
in their nick are bots
on this server.
Unless they are Obi.

Don't know whether you are an experienced player?
If you start runs of 10 frags in a row
you should consider yourself
too experienced for the current audience
on this server.
Then calm down or leave.

If an experienced player is harrassing you
and wont listen to you,
you can call a vote to kick him.
Open the console with shift escape.
Enter 'status' to find out the id of the player.
Enter 'vcall kick # 1' to call a vote
to kick the player with number 1 for example.
Tell the others to accept the vote
by pressing f1.

# Voting
You can accept a vote called by somebody else
by pressing f1.

If you want to play the next map you can cast a vote.
Open the console with shift esc.
Enter 'vcall timelimit -1'.
Tell the other players to accept this vote with f1.

You can call votes with 'vcall'.
For example 'vcall chmap dm_aggressor' to cast a vote to play the map 'aggressor' as deathmatch.

# Tactics
Always watch your back.

Try to get as much armor and health as you can.

Do not just run away.
Fight back as you retreat.
Else you will easily get shot in the back.

Do not attack if you neither have a good weapon, nor health, nor armor.

Standing still is a bad idea most of the time. Ask kojn.

Explosion damage goes thru thin walls.
So beware of players shooting you thru the floor.

# Movement
Learn how to move fast by doing a jumping sequence.

You can use the laser to make big jumps.
Learn how to do it.

You can use the laser to climb up walls.
But before you try this you better learn basic laser jumping.

You can control your movement in air.
Use it to prevent yourself from falling off the map when somebody starts pushing you around.

# Weapon usage
Use the laser to push somebody around.
Aim at his feet to make him jump high.
Same goes for the mortar.

Use laser, mortar or rocket launcher in space maps to push other players off the map.
They will enjoy it.

You can turn of automatic weapon changing in the Player menu.
Learn how to swith weapons manually.
Configure your keybindings.

Choose the right weapon for the job, not just the one that the game automatically puts in your hand.

Try your secondary mouse-button once in a while.

Most weapons have secondary fire.
You trigger secondary fire with right click.


The nex gun has zoom.
You enable zoom for the nex gun with right click.

The secondary fire of the machine gun is more precise than its primary.

You can make rockets explode in midair with right click.

Electro spamming is nice.
Shoot electro balls with right click.
Let them explode by shooting into them with left click.


I hope these tips are helpful, I found them out and they were for me. with these you level will go up to pro

If you want to post advice, please have played the game. Dont just copy and paste from threads other people have posted. Additionally, if you have trouble with spelling just stick the post into MS Word or Open Office for two seconds and check it.

These are simple errors, I know I am picking on small things here but if you are asking to be an admin.... pay attention.

Oh THANK YOU for those tips. I've been playing for a year and I always thought GG meant Gay Gooseling.

Now I know better, so I can laugh when people say GG and nod my head wisely at silly noobs thinking it means Gay Gooseling.

This is used in DCC's beginners server too. I have only seen useless threads of that doomsday guy.

I have some threadnames for you doomsday. You really like to post threads:

how-to be useless

how-to be the worst forum-member

1. Use IRC (irc.quakenet.org #nexuiz #nexuiz.ninjaz), pub as little as possible, play mostly private games
2. Setup a custom config that minimizes distractions, maximizes efficient of binds
3. Lower sensitivity
4. Turn off mouse acceleration
5. Use a dot crosshair
6. Play better players
7. Do not leave midgame
8. Do not give up midgame
9. Don't stop to type midgame
10. Don't play instagib.
11. Watch demo's of GOOD players (this works for a lot of people)
12. SPECTATE good players (in private games, not pubs)
