  • hi folks,

some time ago I stumbled upon this site: http://www.gamevee.com
They provide something like Youtube but dedicated to computer games and with way better quality.

Perhaps some of you might be happy to have a place to upload their fragging videos. ;-)

    Cheers,

And they like to have more Nexuiz clips and movies.

The FOTM submissions could be uploaded there also. The quality is nice.

Does this website work for linux?....every time I try and upload something to it, it freezes firefox.

  • Hmm, probably your flash plugin does that. Try disabling it and then uploading. Or you could different browser if you care to experiment.

    ... you remember me ? :-D

just had some time off the board ... but besides that I've never been away.

own3d is nice too. but I had to switch to adobe flash plugin on ubuntu, instead of using swfdec firefox plugin.

    [edit]
I would suggest to concentrate on one video site. These are my reasons:

    1. any nexuiz gamer can find them at one place
    2. we push the gaming-video site a bit
    3. we might have a better chance to make nexuiz better known in the gamers community when we concentrate on one site first

uploading videos to mass video sites like myvideo or youtube might be useless for public relations, there are billions of videos and many thousands of new videos are uploaded each day. our few hundreds a year will simply not matter on those sites.

but perhaps we have a chance to make nexuiz better known when we use:
    a) sites that are dedicated to gamers
    b) sites that are not as big as youtube
    c) sites that might grow with us (or other way round)

  • own3d.at has created a seperated Nexuiz part (so that nex movies can be filtered).

How is the compatibility of the movies on this site for linux and mac users? For me as a windows user it works fine, of course.

  • for me (running gentoo and ubuntu) it is perfect - if used with adobe flash, not the open source one.
The fact that they reacted that fast to a possible new demand makes me suggesting the usage of own3d.

  • I would go to own3d too, cause it has a dedicated channel for nexuiz. And it's possible to watch videos in linux using closed source plugin.
