A new Community, Bootcamp {BC}, has been formed

This is a clan that has been created for all those new players who want to learn how to play. It also will teach you about teamwork with others. There will be leaders from all around (clans) Mit, Prae, [+], GT ect. . If you would like to help or be helped contact Flandag, Cormag, or anyone else in a clan on Nexuiz, for that matter, and we will set up a training session for new players to learn. You might not start right away, but whne we have enough people, we can show the teamwork in playing and the skills on somethings such as were trick jumps are or special tricks with weapons and to get good with the hook.
If you aren't a "noob" (we just call them people), but need help loking for a Clan, this is your place too. All the leaders know us, so you'll be noticed easliy

this is a fine idea . If i see someone with a {bc}tag i will volunteer some things to learn . I hope this takes off because i see so many get frustrated at playing and not knowing how others are moving so well . i think this is a good direction to take . also it may heighten awareness of the need to help out more .

although it sounds like a good and worthwhile idea, can't you just inter-link this with nexuiz ninjaz or something and get this rolling there? as opposed to having a seperate thing.

I don't want to have to perform another nexuiz channel all of the time.

While I believe the idea is a good one, I'd look into fortifying an existing system in the interest of a more cohesive community.

Well they have contacted me about this and they do have my support.

I did, in the back of my mind figure this could go hand in hand with ninja school / the dojo map. Though I have not verified whether they would be interested in this.

We had a chat about that earlier. I said that it would make sense to merge the two projects together at some point. The main difference between the two concepts basically is that the ninja school had planned on utilize ninja toolz to help things along. The ninja school sorta lost some energy a while back, so I think we are moving forward with the bootcamp concept for now and it'll adjust later on when some ninja toolz related to training get finalized. Then the bootcamp might likely end up transferring into "Ninja school" at some point.

Right now, I have a website and a nexuiz server setup to use for this project. I had a long chat with the various trainers who volunteered. Everyone is going to pitch in to help develop a basic curriculum to follow. I started it off by adding notes from my teaching sessions that I used to run where I would run people through some We're going around and inviting various people in the pub servers to check out the site if they are interested in getting some training. We've already had about 6 responses so far tonight and we trained 3 people (I think). It was a good start!

I'll be adding more info as the project progresses. The plan is to get input and involvement from lots of people so the project is a group effort.

I'm really not against this,but one thing scares me:you haven't said a word about good manners and sportmanship.For me,it is more important to have fun while playing then mad skills.I'd rather play with a bunch of well mannered newbies then a horde of arrogant 1337 fragmachines.

There is a change to {BC}
Its now known as {NBC}, we have a IRC channel #nbc.nexuiz, and we now have branches in EU and AU.

to those (like kojn) that worries about bootcamp being a new community to check on to, i dont believe u should worry that much. In my understanding, NBC is more of a place to learn stuff like immediatly when u are ready for it. As an exemple, a begginer player would sometime , instead of just feeling for a few games, feel like really learn some new concepts or ask some specific questions in a area. he would then just log into the irc channel and ask the trainer that are there if one of them have some time for this. than hopefully one of them will have some free time /be willing to teach a bit. than those 2 persons would meet on a server and do their stuff.

that said i think its a good initiative, and with time and ability allowing id be glad to help out.
