Someone has spammed the nexuiz wiki. These bastards should be smacked down!

I have the strange feeling, this isn't a real person. I have seen such thing on the perlbox.org forum (voice recognition app for linux). I'm pretty sure this was a bot.

Afaik not much to do about this. Only to delete.

its easy to do sonething about this.. add a human readeble only string thing to the posting interface,. in that way no bot can post info.

Not so much destructive tendencies, but rather apathy and lack of scruples on the part of Advertising Businesses in this case.

Wikipedia is a gereralized wiki. the nexuiz wiki is very specialiced and contains lots and lots of info that mopst people are not at all interested in. Also wikipedia is moderated by people that dont know nexuiz too well..

One of my "all-time-open" browser tabs is http://savage747.sa.funpic.de/wiki/pmwi ... entChanges which shows pages that have been changed recently. Some of those changes get reverted in under 3 minutes that way
Which is actually easy.. Click on "Page History", then the first "restore" link and finaly on save. So three clicks to undo such crap. While its right there can be tricks to make this harder for people its also nice because its easier for people to participate. However i would like the ability to log into the wiki so that one can be sure a change was done by a registered user. Right now you can just add a name and can also fake names that way.. thats bad ..

esteel: scripts/authuser.php can add user auth to the pmwiki(newest version), i haven't gotten around to looking at it yet. only drawback would be the need to registre users

I still think my solution is better then phpwiki is Opensource right? Someone give me access (to the files) and I'll see what I can do
