  • Hmm, why did you remove all the player sounds?

BTW if people want o do this, i suggest taking a look at the build-compat-pack.sh script to see how files are compressed to create the compat packs to be used on svn server so that old clients can connect. It compressed files quite a lot (all the files a 2.4.2 would need to play wight in at least 70mb, the produces pk3 is only 16mb..). Guess it would be east to make it possible to create such a 'version' with some sort of script..

  • The sounds were removed because I'm lazy & didn't want to encode what I'd never use. They're also overkill on something like a netbook, making it harder to hear other sfx. I did this for myself because default Nex takes up too much space on an 8GB SSD. It's not intended as a mod or to be ran as a server, just as a way of getting Nex to run on my netbook. I'm sharing it simply to save other like-minded people the effort.

    Lost.

    EDIT, misread you there.
Just looked at that script, it looks good. I used ffmpeg to encode the ogg's - the encode is quicker & no decode to wav is necessary.
