  • Couldn't it be called "Crifle" for its offical name? I've heard most people refer to it as that.

  • How does it detect headshots? Did you add new hitboxes?

  • That's a question for Div0- but it does. I would guess it just defines some top percentage of the model as the head, but I don't know for sure.

    The ballistics work great though- it's very fun shooting through walls :)

    Hope to see this model on svn soon, I think it really resembles the Nexuiz style, unlike the current model.

    PS: Is it finished? There is an url where we can download it?

  • It's nearly done, it just needs another 1 or two animations (for the new reload feature).

  • Really really cool model, just something i noticed about texturing: the "color-indicator" part has too much contrast, its too bright and it takes away the attention a little from the other, very nicely detailed parts. For example in ctf in red team the color is rather pink than red. I don't know wether it can be solved with texturing, but it should be a little darker IMO.

    Another idea I would like to share: it's wall-through-shooting feature should get FAR much more focus, since with the actual settings its almost impossible to use it properly to hunt down someone through wall even if you know exactly where he is. Sometimes the bullet doesn't penetrate through wall, and even if it does, the damage is way too low to be taken serious. (around 30 as i measure?). This would greatly improve the usefulness of the not too preferred primary fire-mode.

    Well its name worth a whole topic to discuss, because camping-rifle doesn't sound too serious (and might take away some guys from the usage, thinking: "ohh man, I aint a freaking camper") :P
    My recommendation is Tactical rifle (light name for camping heh :D)

  • Huh? The campingrifle does penetrate walls only up to a certain thickness but that does not change its damage as far as i know. The primary mode does 80 or 200 dmg for n headshot and can penetrate walls up to 56qu which is about the thinkness of the 'columns' in runningman (its easy to strafe a little and then see the decals on both sides of the column and the impact hole on the next wall) and should be enough for at least one wall of the bunkers in all the greatwall maps, maybe even two? The secondary mode does 42 or 60dmg for a headshot and can only penetrate up to 18qu which could be too little for most map parts but should help with balancing this feature.

  • The reload feature is not new. It has been in since my first release of the code.

    Could you please add an arrow/barret/howitzer type flash supressor. I know you didn't like your first suppressor, but I also went through 2 editions before making a good one. You could just use mine if you wanted as it is a seperate object in blender.

    "complaints on name people": Answer: no. Camping is what this rifle is good at, it is what it is intended for.

    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

    You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
