Race server now has automatic Youtube upload

Race server now has automatic Youtube upload

  • The "Race Over the Lazy Dog" server (141.2.16.23:26002) now has fully automatic upload of new race records to Youtube.

    The videos will automatically appear on

    http://www.youtube.com/user/NexuizOverTheLazyDog

    in less than a day after they were made (the cron job doing the rendering is only run when the Nexuiz servers are empty, to avoid it causing excessive lag).
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

    You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Also, high quality recordings are archived at http://emptyset.endoftheinternet.org/~r ... ogv-mixed/ (yes, with names as DP assigned them). Will later make a frontend for this directory so one can also see the time and the nickname (and to also hide the IP address of the player who made the record).
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

    I won't release my scripts for this any time soon, as SOME members of this community are abusing open source too much. This feature will stay unique to my servers, and not ripped off LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE by other server admins.

  • Hint: append &fmt=18 to video URLs for a nice medium quality, if you can't play back HD. The "low" quality really sucks.

  • Not yet, as CTF records currently are taken only when just a single player is active.
