Hey everyone,

On April the 2nd I started to work on a project that is now called Nexuiz In-Depth. It is a video podcast series that will be uploaded on YouTube in HD quality. The goal is to demonstrate individual aspects of the game that are a bit hidden. This includes stuff such as the console, its basic usage and then tutorials that are based on using the console. What the fuck, why am I writing all this down here?

For the moment the plan is to release one new episode per week.

I used Photoshop for all the artwork and also the slides. I put eveything together with Premiere Pro. Sure, for the first episode there would have been easier means to do that, but for the future I wanted to have as many options open as possible, and with premiere you can really do anything when it comes to embedding videos into the slides. (which you will see soon - well, in a week)

The quality is very high.

I've considered doing something very similar to this. I was going to call it "Nexuiz Start" and it was going to be video tutorials on how to go from noob to intermediate level rather quickly. It was going to be training-based and not into the technical settings very much.

If I ever find some free time, I still might get to it. The more the merrier.

Thumbs up! Seemed like one of those high-budget games where one of developers/public relationship managers present the game for all new players.

The trolls never contribute, they just care about shooting everything down. Try to ignore them and keep doing what you do best. This is a great initiative (/me makes note to try and sync it with nexuiznews.com perhaps).

Very nice thing GreenMarine. I liked it all the stuff: graphics, voice, music. Francotirador made an amazing intro.

Yep, It should be lowered a bit. I also couldn't listen him very well.
Really nice stuff! I just did a fast look at the video and it looks interesting.

Finally, the first real episode is there, Episode 2. Teaser:

In this upcoming episode we finally get down to business.
You don't want to waste time in the menu, which you could spend fragging when you have to adjust a setting? Or the option you are looking for just does not seem to exist?
Then the ingame console is the way to go and we want to make sure you get the best out of it.
After this episode you will be able to:

• set and lookup options via the ingame console
• navigate in the console with ease
• filter the things out you are interested in
• reduce your typing to a minimum

Although the focus for this episode is on Nexuiz newcomers, there are some cherrys for advanced gamers to pick from (ever got frustrated by autocompletion not working for map votes?).

Also, hereby I proudly present the official wiki place for the series. This wiki place offers these features:

• see the list of uploaded episodes
• contains transscript/summary of uploaded episodes, in case you just forgot or missed a detail and you want to look it up quickly
• information about upcoming episodes (teaser text and date when it will be uploaded)
• list of planned episodes. If you want to contribute by becoming a host of the show, you will find a list of episodes where the content is thought through, it just needs someone to create it!
• list of ideas for episodes (not „bundled“ to an episode yet), feel free to contribute there

If you like it, please advertise the YouTube channel URL on public Nexuiz servers. After all, the first episodes are dedicated to the „average joe“, and I'm sure many of them can be found on the public servers.

Also, I'm still looking for new hosts for the show. Atm I have about one week of time left to produce episodes, after that I won't be able to do anything for the rest of the year! The headstart of episodes I produced will run out some time in july, and I don't want this series to die completely just because I stopped contributing (I would, but I just can't contribute then anymore, due to my studies). So if you think you have a suitable english language, know how to record audio and know how to create a podcast movie and upload it on youtube, or if you know how to clone me, please contact me via forum PM or in IRC (QuakeNet or AnyNet).
