    It's fun watching kids fume over how they got owned by somebody using their rocket against them.

    low ping or not... it's possible to wrack up the frags if you know the weapons and how they work under various latency conditions, take a little more skill than you'd ordinarily need otherwise.



    Firstly, you comment as if i've played this game for 2 days, I've played it for over 3 years.

    Secondly, I never said remove explosive weapons.

    What i'm trying to say is the detonation of rockets causes ridiculous amounts of damage, it happens very frequently when playing a person with a low ping, If I have a RL and he mortar or RL i pretty much can fire once for every 2 times he can fire, and when you do fire you will lose badly.

    The damage it causes is ridiculously huge and this is what I dislike.

    Nexgun is my favourite weapon and I use it the most but I haven't complained about it being under-powered even with the lower damage.

    Also map's are becoming more re-balanced now with better armour layout (using 50 and 25 armours instead of just sticking 100s everywhere, so these changes are fitting nicely and help to balance maps more and stop players like me super-stacking in 1on1 for example)

    I'm not even going to comment on any more of your posts after this one, because it'll just go into an never-ending argument.

    I write one thread about a weapon damage, and then you attack me personally :) Maybe it's because you have females hormones I don't know. It's actually more appauling that the moderators which has allowed you to continue posting and troll up threads for no reason even though your meant to have been 'banned'.

    Ban's on this forum are like ASBO's in the UK, it's more like a record of achievement then a deterrent.

    You mean the rl secondary detonating rockets? I misunderstood you then. But I still don't agree it should get removed :P What I do is use something that cant get detonated to counter. That is anything but rl, mortar sec, electro sec, tag rockets. The ROF part comes from weapon combo's. i don't think anyone in their right mind would like a nexuiz w/o that ;)

  • I like my rockets, so I agree that it really sucks when this happens... but I wouldn't change it. It's a fairly logical occurrence, and the compound explosion should do a lot of damage. I know you are a very experienced player, but I'll just say that in this situation I generally try to 'elevate' the situation. That is, I try to get airborne, and drop rockets safely from above. Sometimes a normal hop/fire is enough to avoid the mortar splash.

    From what I remember (used an SVN build without cl_autodemo :roll:) the hook didn't disappear; it changed appearance as though I had aimed it elsewhere. The effect looked a bit buggy to me, but I guess you could say the hook just "dropped".

  • I can already see that exploding projectiles will not be removed anytime soon based on replies to this thread.

    However, if you run your own server, use g_balance_rocketlauncher_health 999. The rockets won't explode, but they may be deflected by laser or mortar.
