  • Hey!

I'd like to collect the solutions (for different operation systems, including windows, linux and mac os x) how to scan nexuiz servers. Scanning servers means: see their name, probably country location, player count, inspect which players are playing, search for player names, etc.

    This would include
    - public server list scanners (tools that get all IPs from the "master servers" and scan all servers)
    - tools where I can specify my own set of IPs (e.g. of ladder servers, servers that are not public and thus not scanned by public server list scanners)

I know that some tools can do both.

To collect more information, please first read and extend the wiki article (or when you don't have an account then just post your additions here and I'll edit the wiki entry for you).

    Cheers,
    GreEn

  • OK, I assume it allows:
    - scanning a preconfigured master server list
    - adding favourite servers by IP/Port specification
    - search for players too?!?

  • Live updated serverlist here:
    http://dpmaster.deathmask.net/?game=nexuiz&showplayers=1&hide=empty

BTW the colors of the players here are very bad:
      1. the default color is violet instead of white
      2. there isn't no support for ^xRGB colors
      3. ^8 is orange (it should be grey)
      4. the worst problem, names that begin with ^xRGB are all black and can't be seen at all!

I've updated qstat (that they use) to handle ^xRGB colors in nexuiz but I couldn't get in touch with the admins of that site to give it to them, there isn't an email address or anything there :(

  • well, thanks for the link, but if it has so many problems I wouldn't consider adding it to the list...

Thanks for flagging this Mathieu :)

Points 1-4 have been addressed by adding RGB support and adding a switching case for ^8 & ^9 (these are vanity colors no supported by default protocols, ^8 was orange because Warsow was heavily dependent on it). The only note here is server names remain defaulting to the violet color to match color scheming as very few servers use colors, and any that feel the need to have white can certainly add ^7 (player names default to white).
