  • This is too weird to be real, Nexuiz and Animusic must have morphed into the same entity.

    This needs to be made into somekind of easter egg. Like every minute of gametime in any match, there is 1/500 chance bots will teleport in out of nowhere with intruments and start playing while the game is still in progress, obstructing the action and mind-fucking players with their unexplained existance and purpose.

  • As for accuracy - this is limited by sys_ticrate, and at the beginning, by my local fps which were below 20. This is going to get fixed.

    As for the beat - well, the MIDI was like that, and when I hear the original song, it IS that boring. Next MIDI will be chosen by me again :P

    4. Open the file in Notepad again

    You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

    You mean, with "never gonna give you up"? Problem is, I don't find a good MIDI of that...

  • The monkey island one rocked!! Too bad the bots didn't quite manage the superb leaving of the map where they had to jump over each other like in "bockspringen" in order to reach the teleporter :) Looked like my old times in the gym in grammar school when no1 wanted to jump :P

  • Yes, as you see, bots still have minor trouble finding a route to a point sometimes. But it at least mostly works now :)

    The improvements made to get this working also affect CTF and other game modes, bots should have much better waypoint routing now (so it should happen much less often that they fail to find the way to the flag).

    The other way round ;) These changes will help the bastards to return the flag more quickly by choosing the less congested paths. Also now they won't go blindly to the enemy flag if the path is congested, which is a good thing because they will prefer to keep stacking items before attacking the base.

    I'd love to have the bots playing a song after completing the campaign :)

  • How about doing 'Nexuiz's Got Talent'?

    3 judges (we need a special skin where the trousers come up to the players armpits for one of them) and a long line of attention seekers, halfwits, the clinically insane and a small number of bearable people. They each have to do a little performance and if they're bobbins then the judges shoot them with rocket launchers. This is just what I want to happen on any talent show.

    If they're a fat woman with learning difficulties and every other way in which they're a carisma vacuum is made up for by their musical talent then they go through some rounds until they get defeated by someone much shitter for no particuarly well explained reason. They then end up in the Priory and a one eyed Scottish idiot says he hopes she's OK, just to bring attention away from the train of destruction he has left through our economy.

    The voting system could surely be used for this concept.

  • ok i can find g_start_weapon_tuba in svn, it says cant find in consol, vehicles arent there either, and g_tetris doesn't work. i just compiled the new svn today.

  • g_tetris wasnt tested or maintained for ages, it may very well be broken.

    The tuba works fine in svn though. Vehicles are disabled in some way until the code is stable (IIRC a cvar), see the code.

  • Given the sudden death of Micheal Jackson, I believe the next big thing for the bot orchestra to do is Thriller on the Tuba complete with the dance moves. It would seem very inline with the kind of send off he's getting from his fans. Possible?

  • just a random idea off my head:
    How about the situation when a player reaches maybe 50 frags in a row ( after 30 there is no more an announcement like rage etc) in CTF mode, to be given a tuba ? Random idea, the Tuba could have the opposite effect of the hook secondary, instead of absorbing enemys, could repel them like a shockwave with no damage (except the velocity/grounding one) away in a given radius : )

    We had the walls of jericho going down with trumpets, now the greatwall is gonna fall appart with a @#!$!@ tuba.
    -e.x Oh shit! here comes the tuba guy
    -*tuba sound ike the sound when the cavalry attacks * (reload time 5 sec -duration 5 sec)
    -ppl flying around ...

    For the accomplishment of 50 frags in a row, i would even be happy to bear a harmless tuba : )

    And finally, in case ppl abuse this, an alternative stupid idea .a tuba could be given to a guy that pulls off a ridicoulous amount (>40) of frags in a row in CTF ( cause he is certainly bitchin ; ) so that he should mandatorily play a note between his weapons changes! : ) imagine the frustration! -nex shot hit -*tuba*plays C -mortar -*tuba* plays Fsharp.
