  • Hello, while playing CTF, I found a map that liked (mmkitch_v1r3). Is there a way for me to start a server, enter in it's name (or name of any other map I like), and play with that level?

    Thank you.

  • if you mean playing the map by yourself to get to know it better , then just place the pk3 in your nexuiz/data folder . start up nexuiz and go to create tab then look in the ctf tab . there you should find mmkitch . click it and set a modifier if you want , press start .:)

alternatively , you can place it in data then open your console with ( ~ ) key . then type chmap mmkitch_v1r3 or howerver the pk3 is spelled out .

  • Thank you so much! I'm going to test that out right now. :D

Edit: I can't find the pk3, any ideas where it might be? Is there a way to just go and download the pk3 file?

Second edit: I also found this:

Downloaded packages end up in |Nexuiz/data/dlcache/| or
    |~/.nexuiz/data/dlcache/| and are only used till you exit Nexuiz.
If you want to play them localy or use them to setup a server of your
own you can "accept" the packages by moving it one level up - right
    next to your config.cfg.

You should regularily clean up your cache to save space and make the maps
you really want available from the menu.

I have no idea how to use those features. :D

  • i have no clue on how to work a server for public play . but to test a map locally you can copy and paste a map from dlcache into data . sry i ddnt think of that earlier . dlcache is where all download from nexuiz game go .
it is possible to manually download maps and add them to data or the download cache
also , sometimes maps wont be in pk3 format . simply rename the zip or rar file extension pk3

    here are 2 map repos

  • "map" restarts the server (and in the process, kicks all players), "chmap" just changes the map.

Only with "map", the variable "maxplayers" can be changed.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Does chmap = gotomap?

I never vcalled chmap because I didn't know what it did besides change the map, if anything.
    My will be done.
