Clean out your data directory from the crap you have in there. That looks like a mod for an earlier version of Nexuiz, as that is NOT the 2.5.2 menu. 2.5.2 doesn't have a screenshots tab. (Although, I do like the idea of this tbh.... Mind sending me the pk3 that has this mod? I could probably fix it up for 2.5.2/2.5.svn)
Do it yourself, or stop complaining.

Sure. As soon as I figure out which one it is I'll get on it. ;)

    EDIT: Hey, I bet it's "new_menu_latest_version.pk3" :D

    Here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/?mjmimw5c13q

This little bugger is also what was causing my server list to stop populating, although it was a fairly recent bug and never happened before, even while that was in my Data folder.

  • There is no such menu in official Nexuiz. You must have a custom modification installed providing this feature. Ask its author to update it to 2.5.2 once it is out.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Source isn't provided with it, I can't fix it for latest svn. Who made it?

its the demo menu thingy terencehill made that simplify recording of demos.
or.. well watching demos rather.. than recording.

  • OK then. I'll take up the conversion of the menu to metric then.

P.S. SI IS standard in Europe.

  • I downloaded it at one of the computers at school, since they have super fast internet. player representations look way better. great job guys! (now all you have to do is show the colors on the model ;))

also, i notice some significant speed improvements. I didn't get to test the sound (I was at school, after all) but I was testing it on a windows, and i guess the only problems audio wise are on a mac. I am planning on transferring it to my computer tomorrow over an Ethernet connection. hope that goes well.

    excellent work, on all accounts
Why has a developer ever needed any reason other than "it looks bloody awesome?"

    What do you mean?

Can you take a screenshot (use the F12 key) and upload it somewhere. I use http://www.ukimagehost.com but there are many, many others.

Since its nexuiz related, please use nexuizninjaz gallery, better to have it under one roof, than half across the internets. Besides, if crap hits the fan, we all know who to hunt down.

  • slight bug found in 9994.zip

i hear a sound in game and when loading maps on servers . i havent tested this for single player or other game modes but ctf .
It kinda sounds like a quick whipping of a ruler cutting air really fast . this happened on the loading screen and a close up battle . its not annoying and is quite discrete but it may lead to other problems .

    win xp
    intel core 2 duo 2.8GHz
    2 GBram
    realtek high def audio

edit: more testing finds that it happens with some weapons . the nex mainly when i get hit or i am near someone who gets hit .

  • It's the "whoosh" sound effect played when a nex beam passes you close by.

  • As soon as you provide a non-corrupt patch file. You have to UPLOAD the .patch file, not post it in a forum PM. Otherwise I get this:

    patching file data/models/player/xolar.txt
    Hunk #1 FAILED at 6.
1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file data/models/player/xolar.txt.rej
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

  • Erm...

I re-uploaded his file here: http://pastebin.ca/raw/1555964 (it's text/plain, wgettable, not like that filefront link)

It's plain text, better use a pastebin for this instead of some random binary host that makes you click on a dynamically generated link... :)
    Meh.

  • Good for the second beta release. :)

Many performance improvements is the most cool stuff I want to see for the next final maintenance release. :D

Note: I'd rather that dev team will gather all efforts to acceptable performance (sorry, I know that the dev team LOVES the very eye-candy graphics. ;) Don't ban me. :P)

Good night and good luck for your tests. 8)

  • i don't know whether its a bug... i tried to join a multiplayer game, and after downloading some packages i got this

    http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=nexuiz679q.jpg

nexuiz doesn't do anything for 10 minutes now.

i'm using the latest beta build, i don't know about the server version.

edit: i played maybe an hour and while loading a map i got

"Quake error: Mem_alloc: Out of memory (alloc at cl_particles.c:2701)" i don't know which map it was.

edit: in sounds/announcer/male some titles dont match the spoken word, e.g. electrobitch is also awesome
