  • To my knowledge, there is only one player model that supports full bright skins. That is "mulder".

That model is very large and visible, so it makes sense to use that model for competitive purposes. However, as a server admin, I would like to know more about options to have OTHER models with full bright skins.

So, is there some trick to converting a player model into a full-bright player model?

  • The thing is that the model you want to be fullbright has to have a shirt/pant color of almost white. If it is almost white, the assigned color from the palette (e.g. green or orange) can come through very well. To see how it is done, I suggest that you look at the texture files for the current FB skin model.

You cannot change a model to become fullbright. The only thing you can do is to create a copy of another model you want to turn into a FB skin model, modify its shirt/pant texture, and put it into a downloadable pk3 file so that other clients that play on your server can actually download it. You might also want to change the fullbright model alias accordingly (or create a new one).
