  • Probably, like there was for 2.5.1, 2.5, 2.4.2, 2.4.1, 2.3 (did I miss some?) and will be for 2.5.3 and beyond :P

  • I'm npt totally sure. There were some very odds frags too, but imho his mouse movement is too slow to be an aimbot. Wallhack _might_ be, but his accuracy comes from the very slow mouse movement.

  • I'm pretty sure its not wallhack, its a smoothened aimbot. If it was wallhack he would have placed the crosshair on the corner of the building where opponents would come out. It's pretty obvious from his name this is what he is testing :P Whatmore I dont even think he was a human, his movement was pretty similar to how bots move around the maps.
@ C.Brutail: even with superlow sensitivity noone moves his mouse like this, it has perfectly constant speed all the time.

  • Without looking at the demo i can say i know theres at least 2 working aimbots I know of for 2.5.2. Fortunately the most advanced one i know of will never see a public game. I personally came across someone using a aimbot on DCC's minsta a few days ago. Not that it was any good, but still theres a/few bots out there it seems. The real question, i guess, is how many ppl are actuality cowardly enough top use these in public games.

On a side note "Tracks players through walls" - not really possible since the serer docent send the client the information needed to do so. unless the mapper made a real bad job for the map in question.

<Diablo> the nex is a "game modification"
<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along

  • I suppose it isn't an aimbot, just a well conditioned CS (or sumfin) player. There isn't just one really amazing frag, the opponents are quite easy to hit (I know them all from my daily lunch-break-matches on DCC). My colleague at work plays quite similar, and everybody who ever saw a demo of Gehacktes (who regularly played Nexuiz some time ago and was quite a big number in the ESL amateur ladder for CS) knows that this is kind of aiming is nothing unhuman at all.

  • Doesn't look like he has a wallhack, but well -- Even if he does have an aimbot, he sucks anyway... And it uses a dumb smoothing technique which doesn't allow for high acceleration. (Like any normal human would be doing.)
But well, I know of the 2 aimbots tZork is talking about... I see no reason to worry.

  • Yup, the map worked. To me it looked like he was aiming with the arrows for some reason instead of the mouse, hence why it was so smooth (kinda like those early games where you turned with the arrow keys and whatnot), the speed is constant. He just had good aim but not perfect.

Cheat? I don't know, I'm not entirely convinced.

Well I don't know, if he really uses an aimbot it gives him nearly 100% accuracy at least in DM matches + people think he plays fair. Doesn't sound like an aimbot that sucks to me.

Indeed, developing an aimbot for educational purposes is fine.. I don't even worry about those people testing their bots on public servers. As long as they keep their stuff for themselves and don't spread it..

P.S.: I Played CS myself for some years, and never saw someone aiming like this (as in constant mouse speed while aiming).

Well, the smoothing he used could be hindering the aimbot slightly, OR I suppose he could just have good aim and a slow mouse.

  • It has nothing to do with low sensitivity, when you spot the enemy you always change your mouse speed because you want to be the first one who shoots, not just slowly at constant speed turning it torwards him.

  • Judging by his movement, he's not using a mouse.

In light of that, I find some of his frags to be very suspicious... and weird. He missed a total of 5 shots I think.

    o.O

that kind of config might come in handy while playing in the place Mirio was depicting in this thread...

    Absolutely.

This is an automated shooter. No human plays like that.

There is clearly general guidance from a human, (such as when it moved left to peek around a pole for a shot) but the shots fire the instant the site crosses the target I counted only one clean miss, which might have been human induced.

Further the crosshairs give the on-target size jump in several instances PRIOR to the target coming around a corner. Not exactly a transparent wall hack, but a cross-hair hack.

It looks keyboard driven, rather than mouse driven, as every move and turn is at a constant rate.

But those who dismiss this as some really good kid on this or that type of equipment just don't want to believe their beloved game has been hacked that easily.

As for those posting about known aimbots, and nobody having anything to worry about: You only know about the aimbots someone wants to show you, not the really good ones.

I've gotten my butt shot off by players with over 200 ping making utterly awesome predictive shots when they were facing the opposite direction.

This is one weird aimbot, but aimbot it is.
