Hi, I found a demo in Nexuiz of somebody beating a speed run (or whatever you call it)... I decided to render it as an AVI and import it into Sony vegas... I added some color correction, lighting effects, and some music. It's a very short clip (1:23). I figured I'd share it with you guys. Thoughts, opinions, I welcome it.

That someone is me btw and we constantly do runs like this at the [NL] Nexrun Race server. Drop in some day if you see players on, there's way more fascinating stuff to see there than the demo which comes bundled with Nexuiz.

Nice looking vid, it's a bit dark in some spots though. THIS is what bloom should look like in Nexuiz Seems like we should consult you if we want to create another Nexrun movie, the old one doesn't have all too great editing (and lots of crappy runs on the old crappy maps): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssTkc3Hgbzo
It does have surprisingly good sync to the beat of the music though, which is quite essential

Hopefully in the future I'll be able to create a script that stores the record containing demos on the server, and possibly autouploads a video of the run to youtube

Hey, I'm glad you liked the video. Regarding the darkness, I agree.. there were some spots (especially indoors) that appeared too dark. My monitor tends to show the darker areas a little brighter than most LCDs. I have to remember that when video editing, lol.

I don't have much experience with Nexuiz, so I would have to learn console commands, tools to use and what not for making third person views or camera fly-by's. It seems really easy considering it has a really good AVI output. Also, I consider myself an amateur at the video editing, but I feel like I can really make something look good when I put my mind to it. I welcome suggestions and tips to improve.

I'll be sure to watch those Nexuiz videos you linked so I can get an idea of what I'm up against. I would be happy to make a Nexuiz speed run video.
