  • Hey, this is an interesting topic.
I was wondering if recording a demo dropped performance a little bit (I just recently asked that question in another topic), then a third person could observe a 1v1 tournament match and put the video up on some web space. The spectator could alternate back and forth between players and give a good overview of the match.

All demorecording does is dumping every received/sent packet plus some additional information like, that's like 500KB/s at most. If your harddisk can't keep up with that and you don't have a few MB of free ram to buffer that, you will have serious performance problems anyway, no matter if you are recording or not.
