I'd like to set-up a dedicated Nexuiz server, I'd like to run with at least 8 players (4 bots).
Would a 1GHz machine with 512MB ram be sufficient ??

I'm on a DSL connection (4.0Mbps down, 600Kbps up)

I do think that hardware would suffice. I'm not sure about your bandwidth though.ADSL is not a full-duplex medium, so 600kbit up migh be a lil short, but just test it

Excellent... I haven't tried it out yet 'cause I don't have a spare machine yet, just trying to figure out what i'll be shopping for when looking for a used rig (something I can throw Linux on ) In the meantime I may just run a temp server on my main desktop to test bandwith.

I am not sure if you can run a 8 players server with that, but I guess 4 players or 1on1 will work fine.

However... ADSL? Hopefully your provider doesn't use interleaving. When you play online (no matter which game or if you just use the ping command), can you get pings below 50 milliseconds?
