Why you dont make an another rule like that one: If you didnt play matches after registration your acount will be deleted in 2 weeks (or 3, 4...). I think if you say, you rin holidays, you can fill this fomular in you profile. Isnt it an idea?

I suppose its just that people do not like to loose. Getting to know the other people and choosing those that are equal to your skill.
The game i lost today very close.. (both just one frag) got me cursing as bad as a 90 year old sailor ;) so i can understand people being reluctant to storm the ladder. But i hope people will start doing it if the see other matches, watch demos and see how much fun it can be!

I really think its ok now to cut back the obvious spamming.. the forum already has more then 1000 posts so can be please get back to normal now? :)

Well we need more people to join the ladder.. maybe ask people on servers, friends. And then choose people you know that are about your skill.

  • Of the 8 US players, I know that at least half of them would completely dominate me. The rest of the players are too far away, so latency would be a major problem. Don't see the point of signing up, really.

Well we also need more US players then :)
And we need to solve your Nexuiz problems first ;)

  • If I'd have a good connection here @ the university, and a gear that can handle nexuiz, I'd join the ladder. But since I'm onyl able to play nexuiz from home, and most of the time @ nights I'm with my girlfriend, I realy don't have a point to join the ladder to always say NO for every match. I just don't have time for playing, realy :(

  • I cannot play at all because of connection problems, but if I could I would join the ladder for sure. I know (almost) everyone in the ranking can humiliate me, but I don't care

  • The reason I'm not playing is simple: there are very specific requirements for the game settings, and I don't know of an American server that is guarenteed to meet them. Show me a simple, correct method to play a ladder match, and I'll do it.

  • I'd love to join the whole shabang and battle it out with american players...maybe get luscky enough to get a nice working euro server as well but there is no way in hell, with the current issues I have.

I need to figure out the sound issues I've been having as well as the FPS drop since 1.5

If I do....beware......you might laugh yourself off the chair about how bad I can sometimes play....although you might catch me on a good day...there might be some problems.

I was informed that my US servers were running less than optimal, and I read in your summary that you would not play there again. I would ask that you give them another chance, appears the network code really needs thread priority to run its smoothest on Windows, which they now all have set. I watched Dave's videos to see what as happening, then tested myself and the problem seems resolved (I also had Dave run around and do air manuvers and laser jumps, and all seems better to both him and me).

  • Oh, if it's no longer an issue then I'll be sure to give them another try. The location certianly favors me, after all. Thanks for looking into that problem. :)

My other post was before I knew of your server, by the way.

Your other post was part of what inspired me to finally put them up (I had been meaning to for a while).

    *random edit*
Workaphobia: I'd appreciate it if you connected and did some laser jumps and air manuvers to make sure it is indeed running smoother for everybody.

  • Why isnt the ladder just done under this forum ?

If anyone wants to give me a 1 to 8 vs me game on my local server ,
contact me via email or pm on this forum

I have tired other servers, I get 200 to 400 ping and its unplayble
for me that that lag level ...

    http://www.planetnexuiz.de/?m=self&um=selfp_serverliste
GameArena Nexuiz #1 DM v1.5 [Australia] 351 ms

I get 40 to 85 ping off that server , usally nexuiz displays 0 to 50

  • What do you mean "under this forum"? Do just mean the adress? I heared rumor that planetnexuiz.com will get some content in the future so its really a good place for the ladder. Or do you want the ladder to use the forum members and stuff? That would mean to add the ladder to the forum software and i guess thats pretty hard to do as the ladder was started indepentendly. And as you might remember that forum software was echanged some time ago because of security problems so it seems like a good idea that both are seperate.

The server you mentioned seems to be the only one in australia. Maybe you can contact the owner and ask him for an other 1on1 server? In general its just bad if you are in different continents and want to play. I'm sure i would have the same problems playing on that server that you have playing on european server :)

The owner is Bigpond ISP - http://bigpond.com/
Its run by their gaming section - http://www.gamearena.com.au/
Their was a 2nd server that was CTF , but no one joined .

Usually I find any PC game is lagy online on the overseas servers and they always get 200 to 1000 ping .

I tired a few USA and Euro servers , I got 200 to 400 ping, its unplayable at that rate.

I dont know about other servers, but we only get 4 to 5 freqent players and we need more aussies to join . A lot of us hate 1 vs 1 , 2 vs 2 games, we perfer 4 vs 4 TDM and 8 vs 8 TDM and 8 vs ME match's

A few USA and Euro ppl have joined with 150 to 500 ping on the local server and its really hard to shoot them due to lag .

Ive actually given up playing Nexuiz online due to hardly anyone joins the game and I always win and small games get boring quick .
