Discuss Nexuiz gameplay here.

  • I've started to create a series of tutorials for nexuiz players of all skill levels. Here are the first two, they are on basic movement. Bunny hopping and laser jumping. I will add to this thread as I create more videos.

    1. Bunny Hopping

    2. Laser Jumping
Youtube | Kyoman | High Rez (right click)

    3. Item Strings

I ask that you please keep all comments on the videos in kyoman and keep this thread for questions about tutorials or suggestions for future ones.

  • very nice, my only suggestion would be to show how you can use bunny jumping to outrun your own rockets.
For future videos, maybe strategies with the RL trigger and electro combo?

Weapon strategy and CTF tutorials are on their way. Working on one about item strings / health runs now.

  • I was thinking that it would cause beginners to make the jump to intermediate. I have seen a lot of Nexuiz players come and go because (I believe) they get frustrated by not knowing how to do all of these little Nexuiz tricks. So this is a great project for Nexuiz. Good job, -z-

  • Very Nice! :D
Maybe some demos explaining air control and ramp jumps.

Esteel made some very helpfull demos explaining advanced movement techniques
They were very helpfull to me when I was new to the game.

  • Thanks for the kind words. A few other ninjaz have tutorials / videos in the works. I myself have been working on some graphical articles to explain some concepts. I'm juggling this with my other projects though, so it'll take some time.

Check out AceOfThumbs Rocket Jumping Tutorial.

  • What about strafe jumping, its possible in this game, with more mouse movement than most games though.

  • Well after you reach a speed of like 39 mph, then you should switch to bunny jumping. Strafe jumping has a fast acceleration rate, and is especially useful on deathmatch maps.

Especially on darkzone, where it turns into "cornering".
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Problem is many noobs dont bother reading the tutorials or they dont know about the Ninjas and their teachings. I've directed quite a few people that way myself...
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.
