  • I'm trying to get nexuiz to have more of a quake-3 feel to make it more lan-party friendly.
slowmo 0.8 - setting would be fine, but it also affects player acceleration and gravity. Is there a way to preserve the graviy i.e. - vertical acceleration, and the time it takes the player to get from 0 to running speed, while slowing down top speed / bunny hop speed?

  • I can not answer your question directly. But for another approach you could try the pro mode, which was designed to appeal players coming from other FPS.
Start nexuiz with the switch "-game pro" to see if that is what you are looking for. If it is not you can still have a look at the configs in the "pro" directory inside your Nexuiz folder to get a good overview of the available variables affecting physics and movement.

  • So that works on linux, but on winXP the game starts, but the mouse doesn't work. - So I have to tab out and kill it.
Is there a way to swich to the pro mode from the console?

Same on a second win-xp pc... probably a bug.

  • This is a bug, that went into 2.4.2 unnoticed. You can work around by ALSO adding the command line parameters

    +set menu_mouse_speed 1
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
