  • groan @ team fortress nexiuz.

if i want to play tf2, ill play tf2.
if i want to play nexiuz, ill play nexiuz.

i have both installed for seperate reasons and play for seperate reasons, i woudln't even consider trying a tf2 mod for this. no disrespect to the O.P. those drawings are brilliant, just no thanks. its like mixing halo and mario or something (just not as extreme)

What was the point of this post?

To discourage the authors and fans of this mod or make yourself feel better? I don't get it.

If you're expecting an exact replica, that's not what you're going to get but that's also not what they are aiming for.

The things that attract you to TF2 might not be what attracts the authors of this mod and rather than stopping by this thread to rain on people's parade, why don't you put all that water to good use? Your feedback on what attracts you to TF2 could spawn a whole new generation and love for the gametype.

  • 1. Just a Little history here, Team Fortress started as a Quake 1 Mod, Team Fortress Classic came with HalfLife 1, Team Fortress was Always a "Mod".

Who Cares If its Modded for Other games. Thats the Whole point of the Mod Community. To Modify Games.

    2. Not everyone has 20 or 30 dollars to buy TF2(Orange Box), and not everyone wants the "Steam Client".

    3. It Can Be done even Better or Make new Classes, like a "Trapper" that creates traps.

Edit: *Corrected spelling error "Cant" to "Can"

  • This project or at least a class-based nexuiz game in general definitely has merit, but again until someone with some understanding of C code picks up the character class 'framework' that Psychcf was working on, this is dead in the water anyway.

So further constructive discussion would best be focused on the effort of recruiting someone who could fill this role.

  • I think that a scout that can just run fast is kind of plain, and boring.
I think that giving scout camera grenades would be interesting. Being able to scout out good areas would be more sneakyish, especially if the maps are bigger.
