**EDIT** Oh, I should have posted under gameplay. Cropped and scaled down. Chat cropped out, it contained some lol, gg and my snickering. **EDIT**

I, macrobat/kanonmat, played the best European nexuiz clan. Usually I don't care too much about winning or losing, but when alpha plays... We played red on dusty. Swift (who is far better than me) had the most points in our team and left just before I took the screenshot. It was a very nice match, thank you all who participated.

    [iO]alpha: io playing all night

iO's page on OUNS has results for matches played, but I just thought you should know here too.

And yes, Watchmen is the best graphic novel ever. Black Hole is quite nice too.

  • I've serious doubts that io is best clan (claiming that does not make it), but anyway it seems it was a good match.

  • Yeah, I agree with Alien. I have my doubts that iO is the best clan. I don't really know what clans there are but I bet Allstars are the best European clan, although I don't know if they have a CTF branch. I also thought Nerai was a good clan with me and morfar in it during that tourney which no one payed attention to.

Point is, if iO the only CTF clan then yeah sure, they're the best. If not, then I have my doubts.

Congrats on the win by the way. :)

  • Some key points OP forgot to mention:

    1. Game was played at 5 AM, and if you take latenight game as some kind of skill measurement, :D well that's your point of view.
    2. Up until the score was 6 - 1 for red, it was 4 vs 2 (macrobat, swift, andrey and kerrrr against me and naryl -- I don't count that 300 ping guy)
    3. When third iO player returned from AFK and joined the game, it was going pretty cushy for blue (despite the fact that it was 4 vs 3).

    My demo. http://omploader.org/vMXRyNQ/2009-06-13_05-00_dusty.dem

Anyway I am glad you enjoyed a win :)

  • Great to see the demo, thanks for posting it, I should record more. Players came and went. I saw awsome play, ppl getting lucky shots, making bad descisions. (Why do they walk into the electroball trap? Stress?) I can't believe we let you have that 100-health time and time again. Fun that you didn't cap when having combined health and ammo of about 300, then grabbed the flag with 20 health and scored.

I got two easy caps in the beginning, without much resistance.

  • You know, iO is not some kinda legend, they do lose matches too

this page mentions some losses but I don't think it's exhaustive.

I actually mainly meant you when I said Nerai as you were the glue in the whole team. So when I said Nerai I meant Fisume +ai and morfar :P. I just assumed people knew that. :D
At least, when I hear/see 'Nerai' I think 'Fisume'.

Btw Fisume, join affro for ctf games! It's not often we accept or invite people. You should be honored!

  • So what did he say about the rule to always play in the same team with other clan mates on public servers, with 99% percent of games being ridiculously unbalanced...

I can't see that on our rules page, maybe you can?

Yea we have a CTF branch: Me, bundy, jurik and Unknown.

Would be nice if you, morfar and fisume could team up again, you were a very strong team I think!! the few games we played and were always normally very close and enjoyable, I would probably say you were slightly better at the time, as bundy has just came back playing and you guys had more practice then us :)

alpha did seem to single allstars out at the time but I kept telling him you guys were the better team :)

I think "be obedient to the leader" is somewhat of an implicit rule. And you seem to ask your clanmates to gather in the same team most of the time.

    So, all in all...

Err it's actually 6v6, and we do have servers for it.

Altho I can't say that an idea of hijacking a 12-slot public one haven't crossed my mind :D

Scrims mean nothing, they are like preseason games in sports, but even more meaningless.
