  • The server list should IMHO be more persistent:

1.) don't empty the server list when redisplaying. Just update it. It allows for a quicker server selection when one does not care for exact ping and player data.

2.) keep the filter rules and add an "OR" operator. I usually just connect to a handful of servers, so it would be nice if I don't have to search them among all the others.

It could be argued that XQF can be used for this, but it's kind of a cop-out to just link to it instead of trying to implement one in-game. I have XQF installed but I never use it, but if there was a favorites list in-game then I would use it all the time.

  • Hi

if you always connect to the same few servers, them make same aliases.

    Like alias server1 "conect server1IP:port"
    alias server 2 "connect server2IP:port"
    ...

So after startup toogle console with ctrl+esc and type server1 and you will connect to server1.

  • The default order of the server list should be by number of players. I dunno if it's just me, but that is the first thing I do when I open the server list. I sort it by number of players because most of the servers are empty.

The sorting should be more obvious. I don't think most people realize that you can click on the column headings to sort. And a heading of "np" isn't obvious at first.

Perhaps an option of "sort by" with selections for number of players, Server name, etc spelled out so it is more clear for beginners. I've seen some beginners have problems with finding servers.

    replace "serve1IP" with "server1HostName" i.e. replace 11.22.33.44:26000 with example.com:26000
    should work the same

  • A very good idea, I agree. Keep the servers there and when the update is done, change them.

  • Ok, I've got an idea. How bout we make a new menu class called "server", and instead of single clicking it, it's double clicked. That would prevent you from joining a server you didn't want to join.
