  • I updated the link on the old download page (http://www.alientrap.org/devwiki/index.php?n=Nexuiz.Patch) to point to the NEW latest build of 2.3 test3. This should be considered the first release candidate of Nexuiz 2.3 and will probably not get further changes unless bugs are found. So please test this 2007-05-14 version and report ANY problem you have.
The above link will give you a list of changes since 2.2.3 and also all the changes since 2.3test1 and 2.3test2..

  • they added a escape for the quotation marks
so now if you want to use quotation marks just use them like this:
    Code: Select all
set "motd" "Hello and welcome to the \"Uber1337-Server\""

    did I guess correct?

  • works great, even on my laptop with the open source ati driver :-) great job.

just one thing, the bots in the campaign are too easy in the first level, they seem realy dumb. it's no fun at all to play the campaign like that.

but the rest is simply great :-)

i didnt try any further, because it wasn't fun at all. ok, i'm a good player, but realy, that skill level was too low to be any fun. I think you will make more people stop there with such a skill level than with higher ones.

But it's just a detail. i realy love that new nexuiz version :-D

  • I'd appreciate some information about servers (tbp their IPs) that already run the test version. All the public servers that run 2.23 don't seem to be very lucky for testing.

did you mean you want information about which servers run the 2.3testX?
some mention the 2.3test3 in their server-names

    for example:
    nwn-server.de ***** 2.3test3
    .de PlanetNexuiz v2.3 test3 CTF+KeyHunt Server

and any other running keyhunt as well is 2.3test3:
[RBI]KeyHunt: Ranseier go down the hooooooole

or do you want questions on HOW 2.3test3 performs on the servers?
GOOD! I for myself did not recognize a worsening in the performance (except that there are MUCH more players on the server now, playing keyhunt ;) )
but I could not make a benchmarking comparison for this, perhaps someone else could do this?

  • ZyanKlee: I think the answer is recognisable in my post if read completely.

    Another thing:
What happened to the new nice RL model Morphed made? I always thought it would become the default one with the next release. No?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand that sentence. Why should v2.2.3 servers be "tested" ? And define "lucky" for testing a bit more pls ;D

I guess what he wants is a list of all 2.3 test servers available, since testing the 2.3 client on older servers doesn't make much sense (as you already pointed out...)

    @Urmel: http://planetnexuiz.de/serverlist
I just added detection for 2.3 servers. I hope that solves your problem...

  • @ urmel: at the ingame server list you can see, which they are by searching for those that have all three player-numbers resolved.

  •

I have some problems with the latest versions...

    1. after some minutes Nexuiz decides to "switch off the lights". It gets much darker, basically unplayable.
I can fix it by going to options/video and select the desired video quality again.
But after a few minutes it will happen again.

(version: 20070519c, green's server at least.)

I downgraded to 20070518 and still had the effect.
I will check if this also happens on the rbi server ( as soon as i get in...)
    <EDIT: yes it does>

I downgraded to 20070421 ... and that jittered like hell on both green's server and planetnexuiz. (?!?)

    2. (maybe related) in recent versions, when i have the quad, i have extreme brightness,
so that i'm basically blind 8) . And what's even worse: this extreme brightness flickers during gameplay

    <EDIT:
[00:52] <KadaverJack> RoKenn: gl_flashblend 0 might help with your brightness problem when you have strength... the rest sound more like a driver/hardware problem... try v_hwgamma 0

Hmmm... both seem to help! Thx!

But driver problem? So far it worked w/o problems.>

  • I'm having trouble with the mouse sensitivity. Using 2.3 builds from 5/19 forward, the sensitivity (both in the menu and game) is very very slow, despite any changes to the setting.

I had been using the build from 5/14 with no problems.

I am downloading the build from 5/17 now, which is the earliest build of 2.3 still available on http://141.2.16.3:7780/nex/

    Hopefully this will work...

If you're using a mac, try "apple_mouse_noaccel 0" (with the lastest build).

  • I'm getting a noticeable unacceptible slowdown when the rocket exploads and when I go to the menu. I'm on a GeForce 6200. Is there an option I can disable to get back to the way it was in 2.2.3?
