  • Quick question: is it possible to compile Darkplaces/Nexuiz for Mac OS X on a Windows machine? How would I go about doing so?

    Thanks,

  • My brother tried it on his PC and it didn't work on my iMac. I'm not into this stuff, so I can't say why. Maybe he got some wrong settings in his compiler.

  • A clear no. There is no working cross compiler that creates binaries working on OS X 10.5, as Apple changed some stuff about the binary format in a way that broke the only existing cross compiler's binaries.

Your only luck would be getting one of the hacked 10.4 or 10.5 x86 images from Pirat eBay that run on a PC and putting that in VMWare, to compile it on an actual OS ; but that's highly illegal.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
