  • hello,

2 players asked me today if I knew where to get the latest svn. This happened:

First player: there was no nexuiz.app in the downloaded folder.

Second player: SVN looked exact the same as nexuiz 2.4.2.

Any dev's know what's going on?

  • Yes, he did NOT get "latest svn".

First of all, nexuiz-NEWEST.zip DOES contain Nexuiz.app.

Secondly, do not spread the URL where you probably got that file from. It is NO official download location. The only way to REALLY get current svn is to use the Nexuiz SVN Build System, which is for Windows only, or to download and compile the source manually.

Thirdly, because of people spreading wrong information, the location where you probably got the build from is now password protected. The people who the builds are made for know the password. For anyone else, there is http://emptyset.endoftheinternet.org/~r ... System.zip for Windows, and manually downloading and installing for Linux and OS X.

I wonder if that is really where he got the build from, because the first apparent difference between 2.4.2 and svn should be the new menu skin.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

svn is got from svn server at svn://svn.icculus.org/nexuiz/trunk

As well, there is a torrent for a newest nexuiz build.
