  • Hi,

just downloaded and started to use the newest 2.5 beta. On the 1st impression it looks like that it is faster than than 2.42 (both running ont he same computer).

    2 remarks

    - is it possible to add the date also into the name of the newest download package, that it is easier to keep track.

    - I asked this before allready: If possible make the download "dlcache" folder configurable within the filesystem (including network, eg NAS device). This would be helpfull for testing several different versions and if several people are using the game in the same network would decrease download traffice.

    2.5 looks realy GREAT!

    Best regards

  • The data is define by the dataxxxxxxxx.pk3 package in your data folder. I don't have an answer to your second question.

This would be possible on a Linux system using symlinks.

  • 1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • or use the startup option
    Code: Select all
    -mygames
then it will work similar to the ~/.nexuiz/data dir on linux.. it then uses c:\Docs and Settings\username\Documents\My Games\Nexuiz\data to store files. Simply move dlcache to there and be happy (2.4.2 also supports that option). That way you can share files between your installations.
But beware that this will change the pk3 loading a bit and might introduce problems with badly packed pk3 files..

Also if you look up that other beta thread and the download location, there is a nexuiz-LATEST and one zip file with the 'real' name.
