Hi guys... why dont you go deferred

  • deferred shading is real nice especially with 64+ lights affecting EVERY SINGLE NODE/MODEL

i know you guys did some post processing, so you are familiar with making quads with shaders to post process images, and MRT only takes 2k lines to make and use. OFC this would be an option for high end hardware (like in stalker).

I really like the game and i was just sharing ideas

There are tons more things you can do with depth&&normal MRT buffers... interactive DoF is one of the easy ones, then going onto SSAO which I personally love.. then Volumetric Light Scattering (you use skyboxes so little use here) and FAKE Global Illumination.

I did them all to some reasonable standard...

I have the effects... I dont have the content

You have most of the effects.. and lovely content

I have some screenies at project-ninja-star.googlecode.com
I'm not advertising my game, but linking to my game's website where the screenies are because they will make the post extra wide.

  • I downloaded your demo and it seems a cool experiment! This Blooddrunk engine is completely made by you or do you use an external editor? However compliments! If you want an external help I'm quite good with props modeling!

P.S.on my 6 years old computer runs very fast, so it's very optimised, but screen becomes blurry while I was moving around! Why?

you sure its the right demo??? you might be looking at the map editor

the blooddrunk engine is a game engine built on irrlicht and irrklang (and nvidia PhysX in future).. it includes mods like MRT...

  • yes its the correct one... did you get all the effects???

I suppose you were able to have, Depth of Field, Motion Blurr, HDR, bloom AND SPLIT SCREEN!!

next up I have a real nice demo coming up within a week... split screen... Light Shafts... Deffered Shadow Maps... SSAO... unfortunately no Global Illumination (i tried but failed).

Btw you should try the PNS-demo-29-7-09.zip with a joystick... they rumble especially the xbox 360 wired one

Well, it's a very old computer, and maybe this is the problem!

    Wow, I'll wait it! :D

  • First of all, happy birthday, DeVsh!! :D
Second, I tried your demo, but it doesn't work, it says that is missing libPhysXLoader.so.1. The computer I'm testing on is very new (AMD3 quad core and ATI hd 4850). What could be the problem?

P.s When you said 1 week ago :
BTW can you model???? (got Zbrush in other words)

Is it was referred to me the question? Because, if it is, yes I can model a little (most inorganic models, environment props, weapons, etc.) but I didn't use ZBrush, only sculpting by Blender!

  • ok, could I... ask you for help later on (can you produce bump mapped models)???? I have no content in the game

oh btw that PhysX lib.... YOU HAVE TO INSTALL the NVIDIA PHYSX packages

  • what do you mean for "bump mapped models"?
Do you mean models (player or objects) with a relief/normal map?
    And
YOU HAVE TO INSTALL the NVIDIA PHYSX packages

On the computer I tested there's an ati video card, is possible to install on it?
    And where can I download?

  • yeah sure it will work with ATI but not ON IT

go on package manager... and ge restricted packages and search for physx... it will come up

What I mean by bumpmapped models is models with bumpmaps and 2 sets of texCoords (one for color one for bump)

Also what would be great, is to have you make a high detail model (100k or more polygons) and map it onto a 5k-11k model.... using zbrush or nvidia meLODy

Well, now I'm little busy, but, if I have time, I'll do it in the next weeks!

Well, I'm using Linux and 100% open source softwares so I don't use Zbrush/melody, but in Blender we can do something similar! I'm not so good in sculpting, but I can try!
