  • Hi,
I don't know if this was posted before, I don't know if this is the right place to post, and I also don't know if this is a thing to to discuss, I just know that it annoyes me somehow.

Well, when you stand in front of an low wall and pointing your crosshairs above it you keep shooting on the wall. I know it's hard to explain so i made an video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Mzpti-IAjI&feature=player_profilepage

I hope you get what I mean.
    Sorry for my bad English.

    greetings

  • It is because the wall is between the gun muzzle and the crosshair. There is simply no way to not hit the wall when the shot comes from the gun.

For that reason, the crosshair blurs on CURRENT versions to indicate that such stuff will happen.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • But when the wall is between the muzzle and the crosshair, you should not be able to see the crosshair??? Why isn't the crosshair then seen on the wall?

  • Upgrade to 2.5.2 and check out the "hit test" option in player setup.

Because you look through your eye and not through the muzzle.

There is an option g_shootfromeye which prevents that problem by shooting the projectile from your eye, but that looks bad.
