Call me dumb, but I find it sometimes irritating that my team's color changes almost every game. Would be great if the local color display would be changable such that my own team is always displayed using my own favorite color

I guess its possible but not so easy because right now EVERYTHING is done on the server and so the server would need to know what colors each player likes and to exchange those colors.
Basicly we are waiting to get a working client-side-quake-c implementation in the engine which would make those (and other things * that right now are more like ugly hacks) more easy.
* Things like the team bubble, nogibs, forced model/skin, weapon autoswitch..

as soon as they give the ability to CHANGE my local setting . Then i'll be running a custom nexuiz version (changed source code) cause bad servers can cause big havoc if they mess up your settings !

Servers already can change your settings

Its just the default code does not do this..

Because it is a quake engine and all quake engines need that feature. Otherwise neither Quake nor about 5000 mods won't run in it. By extending the network protocol, we could make Nexuiz not use that feature any more - however, DarkPlaces could still not change that because it has to be compatible to Quake. All DP can do is restricting access to the data directory.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again
You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
