  • What up? I'm a new player to Nexuiz...been playin about a week so far however I'm an experienced FPS player having come from the UT99 community. Some of you have probably seen me on Galts or on IRC tryin to find out more info on this game lol...Anyway I was wondering if we could setup some kind of 5v5 or possibly 6v6 ladder, whichever the majority thinks would be more useful. Yeah 3v3 is fun, but some larger maps would play great with more players per team and the teamwork/action would be even more intense. You could even set a certain map list just for this ladder using maps like Greatwall, CaptureCity, Runningman, Arboria, Face, Miniman, BlastedLands, Dusty, etc...larger maps that would be suitable for it. Lemme know what ya think!

  • do you have read the 3on3 threads?

the nexuiz is too inactive and you barely can get enough people for a 3on3. how will you get enough player for a 5on5?

there are only a few suitable maps.

  • As Cortez said, it is already quite an accomplishment to gather people for a 3on3 so I doubt you can get enough for 4on4s or more in the near future :(. After all, I think 6 players in one map is just enough in this game, otherwise it tends to get a bit too busy! And this is not exactly the game for big maps either... :)

  • The North American scene is doing well actually, a 5v5 ladder would definitely be used. Or at least 4v4, because 3v3 CTF strategically doesn't work well IMO, It might just be me but I find it boring. I'd rather play 2v2 CTF than 3v3 CTF. So a 4v4/5v5 ladder would be welcome.

Recently there's been a lot of new players coming from UT99, they're still learning the game but it looks like they might stick to it and they seem very interested in competitive play.

Anyway there's a few scrimmages every week already and it will happen more and more but without a league or a ladder there's nothing official and no records are being kept.

I think a league with matches planned every week would be best as it would force people to actually play and not just challenge a clan randomly every 3-6 months. I've wanted to create a league for a while but without programming skills other than html and some very basic php I can't do much. It's a bit complicated atm because everybody is very busy. So in the meantime a 4v4 or 5v5 ladder would be perfect if it's not too complicated to add.

  • The problem is not to create the ladder, it is rather to get it active.

Right, otoh I wouldn't mind creating one simply to see it fail and to delete it again (can be done by 2 clicks), and then I can say "I knew it all before" and be teh rockz0r.

  • BTW: i wouldn't create different ladders for 3on3ctf, 4on4ctf, etc.. What i would do is to allow the competing teams to decide on the team size. So there's a single CTF ladder and a single TDM ladder. Of course 1on1dm is in a sense a special case of TDM with team size 1. But in 1on1 players compete rather than clans, so imho it deserves to have its own ladder..

  • What we need is a whole new clan-site..a universal one a bit like what nexuizclans.com was trying to achieve before, we should speak to bennydacks about this.

lda17h you should see the australian's site..they have a like weekly format, your team plays 1on1, 2on2tdm and 3on3ctf, one map of each I think, and you can only use one player for 2 game-mode's so it adds some tactics to the lineup you use.

As for ladders, speak to bennydacks about the new nexuizclans.com page, it's really good, we need 1on1, 2v2 tdm and 3v3 ctf for starters, and clans really need to start using the things and organising game's.

It really is not difficult, but it pains me how poor people are in nexuiz when it comes to this :(

Most regulars use mIRC and loads of clans check the forum, it's just really pure ignorance or lazyness, then you get the public server whine topics on the forum = RAGE!

Everything has been done before to support clan / ladder competitiveness, it's about time clans actually got off there arse and use a universal site.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a Australian 1on1, 2on2tdm and 3on3 ladders, US and EU ladders of the same on one site where all nexuiz clan-members and clans used like nexuizclans.com has been relaunched.

Anyway like I said, ask BennyDacks about it
